  83. This is not an easy video to comment on. I don't find Chris' actions romantic, nor hardened criminality, arrogant, nor self reliant or wilderness adventurous. I believe it is much deeper emotionally. This started early in childhood of not being able to connect with his fellow man. His comment, even after 27 years, that he had 'screwed his brother on that deal', referring to not paying for the car his brother cosigned for, the Brat. That does show remorse for his actions. I think Chris could not take the overwhelming noise of society, decided on the return trip from Florida that he wanted to go home, to Maine, not his house as I'm sure his parents made it clear he was a grown man and had to make it on his own. Being so young, with 1 job as a referral, no money, no home, he did what hundreds of young people do in Maine, he went to the woods. It was at least fall approaching, so he had to get some type of shelter before winter. This is when survival kicked in, he overcame his revulsion to stealing, and did what he felt he had to, stealing food etc. Being a human, of course through the years he sampled foods and recreational items, and radios, whatever he wanted. Yes, he did commit felonies and when caught he admitted to all his misdeeds, showing his naivety. I don't believe he is a liar, but a person who stole to survive. He had no interactions with humans, so he had no way to know there are programs to help people with disabilities, with food, clothes, housing, ways to grow and harvest vegetables. The judge did say she feared Chris was so distraught being in jail that he would die, starve, waste away. So many young and old people in Maine are homeless, it truly frightens one, breaks your heart. Maine people, most working class, do all they can to help our less fortunate, but if you don't know someone needs help, you cannot offer help. Most mental health facilities have closed in Maine, so where does one go for help. I don't think Chris is a hero, self entitled, a hardened criminal, but an example of what can happen to anyone, especially inexperienced young persons, even more so if they have truly crippling disabilities such as aspergers. I find it a miracle he survived so long alone, with his white glasses, not having talked except to say 'hi' in 27 years, listening to the radio in the woods. He is following rules set by the court, did his jail time, works, attends counseling, apologized to the owners of the places he stole from, so let it be, let him be. That's my take on the story of Christopher Knight, The North Woods Hermit, a monaker he finds repulsive.

  84. My ex husband did and does this, has done so since he was in his thirties, and he wasn't drugged or drunk. He would also have lit cigarettes and would jerk awake if it burned him. But, his male siblings both died from early heart attacks, and he had at least 3 silent heart attacks by age 38. There can be medical reasons or physical reasons a person falls asleep in unusual circumstances. He could just not be getting rest when he should, have a hectic lifestyle, an underlying problem, low blood pressure or low thyroid levels. AH is not a doctor to be able to diagnose why he nodded off, quote. If she was so concerned for him she should have had him checked by a physician especially if he is incapable getting help for his addiction. Opiate on the nod monster Johnny. How sickening that she uses those terms when referring to her then husband. My ex husband was a weekend alcoholic for 21 years and I never called him names, took photos and sent them to people, or demeaned him.. I tried to make sure through his addiction that he was safe, could not harm himself or others, and eventually he quit drinking and that was 32 years ago. Addictions are illnesses. It's like taking photos and passing them around of a person having surgery. Wrong. A person in their own home has every legal expectation of privacy, everything she did was illegal, recording surveillance, video taping, photographs, it was illegal wiretapping and makes her evidence illegal and inadmissible and Fruit of the Tainted Tree. She had no warrants for any of these actions.

  178. Amber Heard didn't care how much or how many times she hurt Johnny Depp. I'm sure Johnny started drinking again in response to her unrelenting abuse, and he says that was why he broke his 8 year sobriety. After all, Amber was responsible for cutting off his finger on their honeymoon. I don't believe 90% of what Amber says. For the first time after all these years we've heard her story of being raped via a bottle - has she ever said what type of bottle, the shape of the bottle, and what happened to that bottle as it could have been sent for DNA, along with the poop she put on the bed. I think she is very dangerous, manipulative, doesn't care who she uses, abuses, destroys, and she doesn't understand that in this process of trying to destroy Johnny, she's destroying her own life. Abusers are always most dangerous when a spouse tries to leave, and I think she is arrogant enough to think she can still manipulate him, saying he is the love of her life, she loves him. I feel genuine concern for the baby girl she has adopted knowing what type of manipulative violent person she has shown to be via audio, video, actions. Johnny isn't perfect, he did push her away in the bathroom doorway incident where she hit him in the head with the door and punched him in the jaw. She had trapped him in a small space without any way to exit and she had opened the door, which he was trying to shut. I don't blame Johnny for sueing her, she has abused, lied about him, blamed him publicly for her own actions, she is turning her actions in to Johnny is doing this and that when in fact she is the one pursuing the actions. She can't let it go,. As far as not seeing his eyes, she was trying to remove his glasses and he said no multiple times. She said she wanted to see his eyes. He said no, you will never see my eyes again. He I would say is saying that her ability to look in to his eyes and manipulate him would never happen again. He was deeply in love with her, was devastated when reality crashed in on both of them, and knew his resolve would break if he looked in to her eyes and they reflected the love that was. He was trying to protect himself, and also to show her that he was truly done with her manipulations. They were no longer Bogey and Becall. I have a suspicion that both in a corner of their heart still love one another, but they need to leave one another alone, call it the past and walk away. But, for all the damage she has done to his life, the lost franchise, roles, income, defamation, tearing apart his children's security - because of her lies the rag papers hound them - yes, she should pay damages, leave him alone, and keep her mouth shut about Johnny Depp. The only way to make an abuser stop is putting them in jail, moving, fines or sanctions. Men do have rights, Men Matter Too, and millions of men are abused, maimed or murdered yearly by their partner, whether male or female. I would say in her role while married to her female partner Amber had the male role and was the dominant partner, which she continued to enact during her Depp marriage.

  185. Amber pushed Johnny and abused him until he couldn't take it then she films him slamming cabinets, sells it to TMZ, gets a TRO, tips TMZ she's getting one, I'd say she got paid for that and all the other tips, all manufactured circumstances made by her and I'd say the end result was money, to destroy Johnny because he told her he didn't want to be married to her anymore, and to put herself in the media spotlight. You can bet any bruising on her face she put there either by slapping herself or via makeup, she's too vain to slap herself. The thing everyone needs to remember is that Johnny is RIGHT handed, as such, facing or toward the side of her if he slapped her she would has be a bruise on the LEFT side of her face. Only if he were behind her would she have a bruise on the right side of her face or if he faced her and backhanded her. Amber however, being also RIGHT handed always put the alleged bruise on her upper right cheekbone, because,, again, being right handed it is easier, rather than cross her right hand in front of her face to the left side. I think that Johnny's team needs to explain that nugget of crime scene mapping. No different than crime scene analysis of a suicide, was the bullet hole on the the left or right side of the face, 90% of the time it's on the side the person is handed for writing. I think if the marriage hadn't ended Johnny would have mysteriously been found dead somewhere in his house, drowned in the tub like Whitney, overdosed like Anna Nicole or MJ, fell in the bathtub like Whitney's daughter, so many instances where freeloaders were living with a star who had become incapacitated either by drugs or drink, usually drugs the satelite person supplied. It's a good thing Johnny got away from that woman and her entourage. Now he has to somehow pick up the pieces of his life this Amber person created and find peace and security. It's always about the money, his manager and lawyer stole millions from him, as did Amber. Hopefully he can make his life a peaceful oasis and become his own best friend, get rid of the majority of his houses, they drain even billionaires, and find a simpler alternative.

  217. Megan and Harry. When did her name start preceding Harry’s. That says it all. Neither have goals, aims, and their own choices mapped the road of their life. Eventually they will try to re enter the door of their life within the royal family but it will be shut firmly in their face. Their own words and actions has distanced them from Harry’s family. As for Megan’s dribble about racism, what a load of bulls__t. That kind of talk may have gone over ten years ago but not anymore. I would hope Black people know that at times persons use the color of their skin to dredge up ages old feelings of anger and resentment. There’s nothing about the royal family to suggest they are racist. There are black members of royalty, the country is one of the most diverse on the planet, and people of darker skin in Britain have no feelings of being singled out, mistreated, shunned or otherwise hurt. That type of attitude is mostly an American invention. One gets heartily disgusted hearing that type of dribble, ok, here we go again, eyes rolling. Not everything is about the darkness of your skin. Megan needs to find a different subject to speak about. As for that monstrosity of a mansion, I’m sure Megan spent all of Princess Diana’s inheritance to Harry picking that symbol of ‘I have arrived’ to show to the world, after all, Megan styles herself as a Princess. The money would have been better spent buying a moderate home that they could afford in the coming years. They’ll run out of money eventually, and will have to do as Harry’s great uncle and his wife Wallis had to, move in to a hotel of means and survive on behests of their friends. Hmmm. Can we say Trump Tower children. People want to see Harry and Megan thrive, do good for this country, raise those two beautiful children, but the public is heartily sick of hearing the endless whining and sympathy seeking behavior.

  226. This is a hard case in many ways. I remember when it happened and seeing a news clip where Susan and her husband appeared. She was begging for the return of the boys, while her husband stood clearly heartbroken beside her, offering support. When the truth came out that she was responsible it sent ripples of shock throughout the nation. Why. Why would she do that. It was easy to attach labels to her. One thing I wonder, having heard of her childhood trauma, did she receive any type of counseling while going through her teen years, was she taught coping skills. She learned the system and adults had little time, resources or empathy for her plight at an early age. She learned promiscuity could help her, and began her survival techniques in her teen years. I think having broken up with her young husband caused her to want to somehow reset her life, to become a teenager again, without children and adult responsibilities. Although her manipulative and promiscuous behavior had already become a firm part of her personality. It's clear those behaviors are still a solid foundation of her personality, being shown with her affairs with the prison guards, and also shows total disrespect for authority. She's a very unsettling person in a bureaucracy. I can see why prison officials are very cautious with her, require multiple witnesses when transporting her, as she could easily accuse one person and end their career. I think, although she did not murder her sons in a violent way with weapons, but in a bystander manner, that she is exactly where she should be, in a controlled, mostly safe and supervised environment. I wonder, also, if the adult males who hurt her as a child and teen were brought to justice, or her mother, who was at the least negligent in the care of her daughter. This case does reaffirm the effects of childhood trauma, and the almost textbook behavior patterns that can ensue.

  252. The British media were beyond vicious with Meghan. There's many things I dislike about Meghan, the upheaval she has caused throughout Britain and U.S., however, Harry seems happy with her, they have 2 beautiful children, a magnificent home, fame, now money to last their lifetimes if they have someone managing their finances. I just don't trust either one. They've hurt so many people. They wanted out, they're out. There's no going back. She dropped her family except her mother, so Harry should do the same if all he intends to do is use or hurt his family. The Royals owe the couple nothing. Meghan recording the Royals early throughout her marriage in secret, taking photos of William and Kate's children as they slept is frightening, what has Harry brought in to the family. That being said, I actually enjoyed the first three segments of the Netflix special Harry and Meghan. Netflix did a fine job of editing, so far, made the production smooth and easy to watch although nothing earth shattering, I respected both Harry and Meghan for the strong feelings they have for one another, their drive throughout their lives to accomplish their goals, and their sheer guts on saying they want to live their life on their own terms. They've accomplished quite a lot since their marriage, it is to be e expected they promote themselves as that is their product - themselves and their life. Their marriage could be one of the greatest love stories of the 21st century, but only if they stop trying to hurt the royal family. They've accomplished what Meghan wanted, distanced themselves from everything British, and they cleave to all Meghan wants, California, Doria, Monticito, promoting herself through the Netfix documentary as Harry is more of a side note, but, I did enjoy watching the three episodes. Hopefully the couple will finally and forever leave everything within Britain alone and stop talking about Harry's family and trying to hurt them. I think Meghan is prone to exaggeration, is deathly jealous of the Princess of Wales, and tries to portray herself as a victim of racial discrimination many times when there is none. I enjoyed the documentary quite well, but I don't trust the couple any longer, and hope they don't try to create publicity sensational news just to keep their names in the tabloids, such as Diana did, God rest her. After 12 years of Diana's hysterics, affairs, erratic behavior, chasing married men and destroying their family I can't say I was glad she had died, but the silence was a relief truth be told.

  352. I think the docuseries is fine. It wasn't hard to watch. It didn't attack the Monarchy yet, but it seemed they attacked and blamed their unhappiness in Britain on the tabloids, the tabloids was writing horrifying stories about Megan, calling her horrible names, they filmed it at Kevin Costner's home not Monticito, again news outlets have done nothing this past week but attack Harry and Megan, they tried to explain their history as a couple, I don't recall the couple trashing the Royal family but they did say that it was put forth that the vile media attacks would eventually taper off, it is true that even beautiful Princess Kate was reviled and attacked by the media early on in her relationship with Prince William and it did taper off and eventually disappear. Everyone knew the docuseries was being released. It's no surprise. It tells of the great live story between the couple, as they said, they want history to reflect their story in their own words. Hopefully the next three episodes will not go in to smearing the Royal family. The couple do have to make an income after all, we knew this. They've come up with creative ways to do so. I hear all these online sites trashing the couple, how could they do this Harry and Megan, la la la, we knew the Netflix documentary was coming out. Even Meghan McCain has jumped on the bandwagon in giving her opinion, and she is not an expert, but the daughter of John McCain. She has no degree in psychology, psychotherapy, behavior analysis, but is giving her voice because she's getting paid exposure time, just like Harry and Megan. Let's just hope the next three segments are somewhat erudite and harmonious. Then the World can move on and have a very merry Christmas.

  385. Harry has had a break with reality. The royal family has not even responded to anything except William about the racist allegation, 'We are not a racist family'. Harry and Meghan have been unrelenting in their attacks on the royal family. Harry has created a running narrative in his head that his mother was a victim, Charles was the villain, William is the chosen one, he Harry is the afterthought. Harry has inherited the Spencer genes, the ones that even Diana admitted made her a very spiteful filled person, especially toward Raine Spencer and even her own mother for years. Diana admitted she was spiteful, almost pushing or thinking about pushing Raine down the stairs at Althorp. Diana's life was cut short because she was too engaged in spiting Hazzid Caan [sp], because he refused to marry her. It was her decision to go to Paris, to go to another location the night of her death, to get in that car without having her bodyguard driving or checking the state of Dodi's driver, to not wear a seatbelt, or all led to the fatal ending. The only reason she gave the Panorama interview was to one up Charles after he gave his televised interview. Diana portrayed herself as a victim of the royal family, which she was not. She admitted early on when she and Charles were intimate she felt little for him. She controlled the narrative of her life, even a footman's eyewitness account shortly after Charles and Diana's marriage said she was a dervish. She and Charles had gotten in to a row, Charles slept on his closet floor, and Diana they suspect had destroyed everything in the main room, everything was shattered broken. She even admits taking everything of Charle's from their Kensington apartment when he moved to Highgrove to be with Camilla and putting it in a broken heap in her apartment's back yard and burning what she hadn't broken in to bits. She even admitted around the time after she had Harry of starting and continuing the affair with James Hewitt. Who does that? She was at that time relatively newly married, the future queen of England, the mother of the future king, and she was having an affair with her nobody riding instructor and was even caught in a stable stall with Hewitt. I'm sure she put the royal family through the wringer. She portrayed as a victim until her dying day. It seems Harry is doing the same. I'm not saying Diana was without merit because she wasn't, she had many good qualities, but as Harry is doing she enjoyed being seen as a saintly martyr while behind the scenes she was totally different. I hope Harry gets counseling. I'm sure the royal family have tried to show Harry patience and understanding throughout his life, and Charle's comment, I may not be your father, was probably said in sarcasm.

  454. A very intriguing case. I remember when it happened. I think DB Cooper was a Vietnam vet, knew planes, knew how to parachute with the best-choice chute. Yes, he made risky choices, such as wearing regular clothes and shoes and no helmet, but boarding in a flight jumpsuit would have given clues that something untoward was about to happen. But he did wear Aviator glasses, maybe even RayBan. I think he was very familiar with that model of airplane, and maybe was a pilot at one time. He was guessed to be in his early forties, old enough to know better, but crazy enough to do it anyway. His ordering whiskey and soda and smoking Chesterfields[?] dressing in black loafers and black suit and tie is very unusual for that era of riots, free love, hippies, pot and acid. A gentleman bandit. I doubt during that time frame Canadians wore black suit and ties. I don't know, I think Cooper was a bit more intelligent than given credit. I doubt he was polite, thinking it would help him get away with the crime, I think he was raised that way, maybe in a religious school. He treated the female flight attendants respectfully, again, it's inborn and learned, and if a person didn't find it worth the trouble to act thus, they wouldn't waste the time to do so. The tie, the machined metal filings and also the lab grade metal particles know to be in only one lab in the United States at that time, and the DNA on the tie, make me wonder why the FBI hasn't tried to trace the DNA through familial databases throughout Pennsylvania. I think eventually it will be solved, probably a few years after DB Cooper passes away, as all legends seem to do. The metal particles on his tie lead me to believe he was indeed a physicist. Maybe even for the government at one time. He chose just the right amount of ransom so his wish was fulfilled, but did not ask for large Bill's, which shows he was a novice at robbery. I think there has to be someone who knows who Cooper really is. The 3 packs of bills on the riverbank make me think the impromptu fanny pack he made around his waist was coming unraveled. Or that Cooper may have drowned in the river. Interesting case.

  463. Maybe if she gets comprehensive counseling she can move forward and beyond her mental illnesses, develop a fuller personality with some sort of empathy, insight, and depth. I could never have been married to someone like Johnny Depp. Yes, he's a lovable rogue, but he admits he has always been an alcohol and drug abuser. That would have kept me angry and resentful as it creates a tension in the relationship, a lover sitting between you that cannot be evicted and is always more powerful than you and the love you offer, and a person under the influence is not truly giving undivided attention to the relationship. She was young, too young for him and she didn't have a fully developed personality, she admits she was cruel, doesn't recognize her younger self on the audio tapes and feels shame. It's a hard situation. One would like to see her move on, she has made a few movies so is still learning her craft and she alone has done the work to get where she's at, and she must feel emotion as she has a close bond with her sister. I think she's a fighter, but she needs to stop with the interviews or she's going to end up in court again. She's still smearing Johnny Depp's character while he hasn't spoken of her. It's like a broken record. I too do not understand her declaration of love for Johnny. Maybe it is her way of appeasing his fans, by saying, I love him too, I'm one of the fans, or it may be an appeal to Johnny himself, save me, people are hurting me, I'm hurting. It's impossible to say what her motivations are, she may love him. But, continuing to disparage him is gaining her nothing. Hopefully after the upset things will settle down and they both can move on.

  529. This is a situation where there will never be resolve. Johnny has admitted he slayed his kitchen cabinets. So, he may or may not have beat up other items in his home instead of Amber, but the police officers said they saw no damage the first time they went to the penthouse. Johnny was gone then. Later they returned. I don't believe there was damage that time, but somehow there was all that damage, wine on the floor, broken pictures, pictures stacked neatly on their bed, and the court I believe wondered who did that. Was it done to set up Johnny as destroying the apartment, then wounding her cheek as a basis for a TRO. There were a lot of people grifting off Johnny at that time, friends and family of Amber, they all had taken over his home. It is so hard to make a realistic judgement as to who abused whom. My gut is telling me that Amber was the aggressor from her actions, photos when she said she sustained damage from abuse but none showed, her admitting on audio she had hit, punched him. How she manages to sit alone when she said to him if he got out of the car, to visit his daughter, she would die. Beyond manipulating. She is very scary personality, and if she ended up hurting or killing someone it wouldn't surprise me. Johnny ran from confrontation she admitted. That is what enraged her, that she wanted to verbally abuse him then escalate to physical abuse then the loving making up, classic cycles of abusers. I'm glad they divorced. I don't think Johnny had ever been in such an abusive relationship. Both probably will be better off unmarried. Living separate but dating so they would have a place to vent, release tension privately, to smoke a little and other things. Too sad but not uncommon. Relationships are not easy but when you have no means to navigate one, suffer from substance abuse, bad childhoods, and unrealistic expectations it is impossible. I do believe you are correct, Amber reengaged with Johnny. They both need to stay away from one another it has been shown. I also believe Johnny was jealous and controlling of Amber, but her own midnight visitors from the beginning of their marriage shows without doubt he would have been stupid to trust her; many spouses end up with STDs or AIDS by having a gut feeling but not following your instinct. It was unrealistic for a 56 year old man to marry a 25 year old girl. Totally ignorant. I'm sure the heightened emotions in many ways is like a drug that they can give one another, that a part of each crave as much as coke, but they would end destroying or killing one another. It will be good if they reach a settlement and walk away, try to maintain civility toward one another in public, in private they can rant all they want.

  590. Can you define a reasonable expectation of privacy? You have a reasonable expectation of privacy on the phone, meaning you cannot just record somebody you’re having a phone conversation with unless you are in a one-party consent state and you consent, or you’re in an all-party consent state and every body consents. The other thing to understand is that video recording and audio recording are not the same thing. For video recording, if there’s no sound, you actually can get away with a lot more than you can with an audio recording. If you are in your home, your personal home, and other people start recording you, generally speaking, you have a reasonable expectation of privacy in your home, though other people in your home do not, unless it’s in the bathroom or perhaps the bedroom where they’re spending the night, something along those lines. It’s important to understand, though, that people can set rules for their own buildings, even if it’s a government building. So if you go into a Starbucks, and they say, “Put your camera down. You’re not allowed to film in here,” they can do that because it’s a private business. If you come into my house, and I say you are not allowed to record in my house, and you start recording, you are violating my rules. And the moment I tell you to stop, and you fail to stop, and then I say, “leave,” and you fail to leave, now you’re trespassing. The thing is, Amber recording Johnny in the privacy of his own home, audio and video is and was illegal because it was private property and he had every legal expectation of privacy, and after throwing Amber's phone on the door during his abuse of the kitchen cabinets, she knew without a doubt he did Not consent to being recorded, which made made she did illegal. It is legally inadmissible in court being Fruit of the Tainted Tree, as Amber did not have a search warrant.
