  1. #2 The head was probably brought to the Americas by the Vikings who had been making voyages to the American continent since about the 7th century AD. Possible precolumbian runic scripts have been found as far inland as Oklahoma. Continual trading most likely found the head being passed southward since there's no evidence that the Vikings made it to South America.
