  1. It's the Arabic name for a star in the constellation of Perseus and should be pronounced "rahts" so that it closely sounds like "rots." In an English or American accent, it would be more convenient to say "raas." It's definitely not "raish." The closest to "raish" you would get is "roash" which is the Hebrew word for head instead of the Arabic. In Hebrew the star (English Algol) is Rosh ha Satan instead of Ra's al Ghul.
