coolsteve1985 I personally didn't like the actor's portrayal of Bane. I picture him as if Sean Connery had gotten the role to voice Darth Vader. I don't agree with the croaky British accent being the perfect offset. The actor playing Loki nailed Loki much better than Bane's actor did, IMO.

Layne Rice Remember, this isn't about the villain, it's the actor's portrayal of that villain. The incarnation of the Joker that Ledger was playing was a character developed by Frank Miller for his series of the Batman. As acting goes, he nailed that character better than any other actor nailed their Joker. Of course, if you want to add voice acting into that, Mark Hamill wins hands down over all of them. And I agree with you that the Joker from TAS written for Mark Hamill and extended to DCUO and Batman video games is the best Joker around with a good combination of the silly clown and scary psychopath.

coolsteve1985 If he wasn't called Bane in the movie, I wouldn't have recognized him as Bane. That's really not acting the character very well.

coolsteve1985 I disagree with your statement. You're going to have to accept that.

coolsteve1985 You're acting like a dumb ass. Stop it and try to be a little more mature. When I read the comics, I didn't hear coming from him a croaky British accent, and his mannerisms. Yes, the writing is just like the comics, but not the acting, IMO.

coolsteve1985 "Can you 'hear' Bane talk while reading the comics?" Yes. Whenever I read anything, whether it's a comic or a book, the characters come to life in my mind's eye. You don't? "And you said his acting is why you can't tell that that's Bane! You didn't say nothing about his voice!" From my first post on this thread to which you responded: "I don't agree with the croaky British accent being the perfect offset." So, yes, I did mention his voice. "What the hell does his voice have to do with his acting anyways?" Because it's the voice the actor chooses to use for the character. Just like why I have to laugh at Keanu Reeves in any serious role because of his staple "surfer dude" voice. "I said his personality was just like the comics!" That's writing, not acting. "His voice has nothing to do with his personality! You're so fucking dumb it's not even funny." Given that you can't even remember what was said a few posts back, you might want to reconsider throwing stones in a glass house.

coolsteve1985 Yes, an actor chooses how he intends to play a character. When he or she gets an audition script, they decide how they will portray that character.

coolsteve1985 "To play Bane, a willfully evil and possibly unstoppable force of mind and might, the British actor wanted to develop a distinctive voice..." http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/04/15/the-dark-knight-rises-star-tom-hardy-talks-about-playing-bane-and-inventing-the-villains-controversial-voice-its-a-risk/ Are you ready to give up now?

DuckthatGames Mark Hamill has officially retired from the Joker as of Arkham City, and that was his plan. It's very hard on his voice he said, and after doing it for nearly 20 years, it was enough for him. I've personally not heard anything about Mark Hamill changing his plans and wanting to voice Arkham Origins.
