  29.  @ElessarFrey  That's a long but not so complex story. 1) Anglo-American culture does NOT study European history in general, unless it's strongly related to British history from the 18th century or at most during the Hundred Years War. 2) 19th century ethno-nationalist racialism: humans are separated into rigid racial categories and whites are just Anglo-Saxon Europeans opposed by any other type of brown, yellow or black 3) Inferiority complex: still today most people from the Anglosphere think that countries like Italy or Greece are "poor" countries when they in fact are substantially rich. The latter consideration coming by ignoring most of post-Socialist Europe which too oddly contradicts they Anglo-Saxon view of whiter = richer. They last aspect is also fueled by the lack of awareness of basic national differences in Europe: I mean, how many Italian Americans do exist as opposed to Spanish or Bulgarian Americans? 4) The puritanic anti-Catholic hatred and dark legend. In other words in the Anglosphere Italy is nothing else than the archetype of anti-whiteness in Europe because of the vast as inexplicably unopposed racialization/stereotypization of Southern Italian immigrants from the 19th-20th century and not a cogent, informed and scientifically based understanding of Italian politics, history, genetics, culture, language and more. Regarding the latter aspect I would say that especially Schwerpunkt makes an excellent job on the channel to prove how uninterruptedly rich and advanced Italy was since Roman times up to the 17th century and beyond, lagging behind and only comparatively to the most advanced Western countries (that it's part of) in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. I think Metatron just plays the game "look at me, I'm Sicilian, so I speak for a Mediterranean racial category" which I personally find it insulting as well as devoid of any scientific foundation.
