Warp looks nice, but the fact that it's proprietary software makes it a complete non-starter in my eyes. I can't shift my most central workflows to a tool that might disappear when the startup goes under. Other concerns are privacy and that I can't make a pull request if there's a bug that affects me. The fact that I am forced to login to a terminal app is obviously laughable, but it's no longer under consideration anyway. I fully respect their wishes to publish and monetize it in this way, but I think people will know what I mean when I say it's a Mac app.

Exactly. I can't take another famous host talking to a famous guest about nothing. Give me something I don't know.

Everyone's favorite UI is the native one, but the reality is that people are moving away from that, due to the high degree of OS and toolkit fragmentation. People want a web interface, so they're just going to ship electron abominations until the end of time.

@iMagUdspEllr because people want to use the app in their browser.

The space for innovation in this space isn't in the terminal, but the shell. That Unix-likes have to live with the abomination that is bash/zsh while Windows has a shell that supports structured data and is well integrated with system components is ironic. Sed and awk are akin to a homeopathic treatment for the stage 4 tumor that is POSIX.

@SimGunther I use Nushell as my default shell, but linux system components and utilities only input and output strings as bytestreams, which means I need a parsing wrapper.
