  1. Agreed! 😆 And since we’re on the topic, a couple of months back I explored an old abandoned Meiji era school (I live in central Japan) that looks a lot like Satsuki’s school in Totoro. (I took video if anyone wants to check it out!)

Well, it would depend if any ‘Kami’ were angered by the original construction of the school... like if they didn’t do a proper Shinto ritual when before the ground-breaking, or moved a sacred stone in the process or something. THEN you might get bad stuff happening, haunting, etc. (There’s a house in my neighborhood like that.) I don’t get that vibe here though. In my opinion, schools built in that era aren’t particularly creepy, even when they’re abandoned. A Meiji era school, on the other hand, would be a bit creepier. (I actually just explored one of those a couple of months back. (Anyone wanna see the video??)
