There was no Brit soldier there at the time. One month before Japansese invaded, The UK HQ in India hd evacuated most British soldiers in Malaya and put Those fool Australia soldiers in replace. They all knew the cruelty of Japan soldier from news on battle in China, the Nanjing massacre. They were all in fear. Even the Brit hoax promote on Gurkas brave soldiers didn't help. Because this Gurkas were arranged to die in frontest battle row. Their regiment were broke quickly and fled away to jungle. While those Aussie at back end flee toward south.

@yellowpete79 Incorrect because British shame were exposed? Don't think that serious. When British became boss command slavery for long, their fighting spirit were loss away. Its common that they were in frighten. Don't forget they colonized these regions with little attempt. Its different story when faced to the Imperial Japan army.
