France has permanent seat in UN standing committee. So Macron has dignity to say his word. Germany is different. It is the losser WWII country. It must bend to Anglo the winners in any means. Even German's national formality news DW, has to work under Anglo guideline news issue. They can't show up their own opinion that contrast to the Anglo.
