  3. Russia is now better than it's Soviet era. Consider when in Soviet era, Soviet isolated from the west and they can easily stay on their own because of huge resources. Soviet fell caused from non market economy, not from have not relation with the west. Russia today economy is market mechanism. Given Iran as example, Russia has more tech and various advance than the Persian, So it can live better and easily without west relation.
