Saddam was fool enough to be decieved by US in start Iran-Iraq war. Had he ever has a conversation with the late Japanese emperor Hirohito, He would have not been fooled by US ,may be. In pre WWII period, Japan also had been decieved by US to start Pacific war also. American pledged to sending Japan all logitic materials and Fuel oil through out the war when Japan'd asked them. So Saddam was not 1st guy in leader who was decieved by US to ruin down its own nation.
