Considering the perfectionist Kubrick was, one scene in "2001" is stunning. When we get the shuttle pilots point of view in the closing scenes of the Pan AM shuttles' approach, the shuttle rotates in synchronization with the station, the starfield revolves in the background, but the shadows from the sunlight don't move over the spinning station... To get that effect, the sun must orbit around the spinning station in a synchronous orbit...

The guy who did the actual flying in the modified "De Havilland Chipmunk" for "Ezra Stiles" outside loop attempt in "The Great Waldo Pepper", was killed while filming backgrounds for the actors in the cockpits in "Top Gun". He crashed in the ocean.

@suekennedy8917 OK, You are not a scientist, but You act as You were planning the moonshots, deciding What they would bring on the Journey. The only reason to place TV Cameras inside the LM, would be to satisfie the conspiratards. And, they had the weight to think about.
