@PhaserHim Yes, curvature exists. No doubts. Now, answer the other questions...
12
@PhaserHim Are you really that ignorant, that you don'tr understand, that the distance to Earth determines how big the continents seem. If you take an Earth globe and take some pictures of it, from different distances, you'll see what I mean. Take aphoto from just about 1 decimeter and you will only see, for example, North America. Then go to further distances and take photos all the way.
10
@PhaserHim How do the Flat Earthers explain that the measured distances between Australia, South Africa and South America, fit the global Earth perfectly, but would be impossibly wrong, if it was flat???
7
Phased In I don't know what's wrong with you, but the program I saw on the TV, was very well documented and clearly showed there was a curve. Why has no Flat Earther ever sailed around Antarctica, measuring the true distance? It can't depend on lack of money. There are a lot of rich people in the world.
6
@PhaserHim The ships, landmasses and objects in the sky (like Sun , Moon, the stars, disappear and come up from behind the horizon. If you use a telescope, or strong binoculars, you see the crests of the waves meet the sky, looking out over the ocean. If the Earth were flat, the ocean should disappear in the atmospheric haze, even the clearest day. It doesn't.
5
Phased In The Flat Earthers made an experiment. They pointed a laser on 3 posts, several kilometers from each other, and placed a guy with binocculars at the last post, at the same hight as the laser. The laser hit post n:o 2 and 3 much over where they had expected and the guy with binocculars didn't see the laser beam. They were devastated and tried to come up with some explanation... It was all filmed and sent on TV.
5
@PhaserHim Nonsense. Anyone, who has flown in the Concorde or any other high altitude aircraft, can confirm the "curvature". And, gravity makes a flat Earth impossible.
4
@PhaserHim Because you would just "invent" some other "experiment" they haven't done, claiming they want to hide "Flat Earth". What about the distances between Australia, South Africa and South America? What about the ships going behind the horizon? What about Lunar eclipses?
4
Phased In The test I saw on TV, made by people from Flat Earth Society, clearly showed the laser hitting higer up on the posts, the longer they were from the laser source. and, the guy with binoccularsdidn't see the laser beam at all, despite it was "fired" horizontally, straight at where he should be.
4
Brian Are you REALLY so stupid? You fortet that the atmosphere spins together with Earth and aircraft fly in the atmosphere. How the heck can you believe that Earth’s spinning influenses the movement of an Aircraft the way you say?
3
Brian Water always seek the strongast gravity Fields. On Earth, that’s Close to earths center. Sorry, but you are an uneducated idiot. Can’t say anything else about you.
3
levis569 Of course, you ignorant. If he existed, he was born and lived in Middle East.
2
levis569 What is "muslim looking"? Are you so stupid that you think all Muslims look alike? Or all Jews, or all Christians? What about all believing in the Flying spagetti Monster (Pastafarians)?
2
Quite interesting movie. Not a lot of supernatural stuff. It showed a version of how the legend COULD have started.
2
Phased In Yes, curvature exists. You can see it, when ships and land masses disappear down behind the horizon. You can't expect to see the curvature from left to right on the horizon. Because, what would happen to that curvature, if you turn 180 degrees???
2
@paulallen-01 So, things can exist regardless of time. The universe too. It never had to be "created"...
2
@callmejohn8528 So, just explain EXACTLY what you Flat Earthers believe and how it can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Skip th"The flat Earth society" and explain by your own words.
2
CRISIS ACTORS "Flat earthers dont subscribe to the flat earth society". Of course not, since there is no sense in what they say.

***** It's a good presentation of ONE possible way the legend once started.
1
***** I know the movie didn't follow the Bibles story in many details. What I meant, is that this was ONE possible way, how the legend of the carpenter Yeshua first got created. There are an infinite of possibilities. As you might understand, I don't consider the Bibles stories as proven, absolute facts...
1
***** Well, no histrical movies follow the alleged "truth" exactly, be it a movie about Columbus, Napoleon, Hitler or any other person. There are also different stories about Jesus in the Bible. Which one is the "truth"?
1
***** Isn't there two versions of how many men the women met outside Jesus grave, for example? Well, I've seen "Ben Hur", "The Greatest Story ever Told", King of Kings" and several other movies about Jesus. They all differ. Not the least in explaining why Judas Iskariot became a "traitor".
1
camille mcaloon Other versions say he believed Jesus was the expected Messiah, who should free the Jews from the Romans, and that he tried to provoke Jesus to take action, using his "powers". The Devil tricked Judas? Why would that be nessecary, since Jesus Father had already decided that his Son must die, because his creation didn't obey him as he expected... If Judas hadn't betrayed Jesus, he might not have got the chance to be executed and die for your sins. Never thought of that? Judas made a great favour to the Christians. And, you say it was actually the Devil, who was responsible for that favour...
1
camille mcaloon If I really made you think, my mission was successfull...
1
***** I know General Wallace wrote "Ben hur". OK, since "...the gospels were told from differing viewpoints and not every single detail is revealed from each author in the same way...", one can hardly "accuse" an omnipotent, all knowing god, to be the "author" of that scripture... Thanks for the link. There are even more different stories than I knew about...
1
***** Yes, I fully understand that diferent people tell different stories. That's why I say, that these stories were just written by humans, most prabably quite long after the alleged death of that carpenter, and not "inspired" by the force, whatever it was, that caused our universe to come into existence.
1
***** Please tell me some of the prophecies, proven to have been fulfilled. People don't have to meet each other. They can hear about others stories.

AreSophia Apollo Ceasar Augustus didn't live 12 000 years ago...
1
AreSophia Apollo Nope. The Ice Age ended about 11 000 years ago. At least in Scandinavia... By the way, Earth is about 4.5 billion years old and Sun will swallow it in about 4 billion years.
1
AreSophia Apollo Humans hunted the mammoth, but humans didn't live in the ice. The last ice age ended 9 - 11 000 years ago in Europe. Of course the last ice remained the longest far up north, so it didn't just end abruptly. Well, that "Joe Rogan Experience 606" may be interesting, but so what? There's not the slightest evidence of older civilisations and not every trace would have been erased, since we can find a lot of fossils and things from before the ice ages. I admit, i didn't have the patience to listen troujh it all.
1
AreSophia Apollo I'm actually not quite sure what you'r up to. I may have missed something, because I've not read every comment up here.
1
AreSophia Apollo I've watched parts of it, but it's looong and I'll probably not watch it all. I can tell you that I've read a lot about both aliens and pre-historical civilisations during many decades, so I've pretty much decided what seems to be the truth and reality. I still don't know exactly what you'r up to...
1
@jesusfreak2017 If You say: God has always existed, I can say: The singularity that started Boig Bang has always existed. Sorry, You are wrong about the statement that someone MUST have planned the whole Universe. Once the natural laws had formed, the development of everything was inevitable. So is the biological evolution. You can never, by logical reasoning, prove that the biblical God is behind everything. And, after all, the Bible is written by men (naturally) believing the Earth was flat...
1
@0YuNgRiStIc0 I think it's something some of those who write on Youtube have between the ears... Honestly, "nothing" is NOTHING. The absence of "something", just like "darkness" is the absence of "light".
1
@SystematicSequence What is "time"? To my understanding, it's a way to "measure" changing. If NOTHING changes, no one can say that any "time" has gone by. If You pauses a video, no changes will occure, so no time is floating in the film. If there was no space, energy and matter, there could be no changes. How could You then tell there was "time" going by?
1
@thatsmekarlijn Exactly what do You mean with "positive energy is stronger than negative energy"? That has, as far as I know, no meaning in physics. That's just a "psychological term". "Good" and "bad" is something most creatures know about, not just we humans. "Good" is what makes the life easier, "bad" is what makes it harder. In a flock it's "good" to help each other and bad to be egoistic, for example. That goes for wolfs, lions, humans and many others too.
1
@thatsmekarlijn What kind of knowledge do other animals NEED but can't get? Many animals eat new things out of curiosity, to see if it's eatable. That's why birds die, eating plastic, for example. "Humans" and "animals" are the wrong words to use. Humans are animals too, and every species is different from any other species in some ways. We are not very special regarding to all the other animals. All species have their own characteristics they don't share with others.
1
@dgmlxcbl And that "something" that "created" everything, where did that come from? Your "theory" doesn't explain anything. It just adds another problem to the problem...
1
It's probably just our brains who are unable to understand how the Universe came to be. Just like a cats brain is unable to understand what a car is. Maybe it's quite clear to some aliens with more sophisticated brains.
1
@thatsmekarlijn Do You admit that chimps making tools have a degree of intelligence, or are You still saying other animals have no counciousness and only act on instincts? Have You ever been close to a dog and communicated with it?
1
It's probably just as impossible for the human brain to understand how the Universe came to be, as it is for a cat or dog brain to undestand how a car works. No matter how much we or the cats and dogs try.
1
@dylanchrey Where did you read that???
1
@bigslice54 So, how come, that my countryman, Ola Skinnarmo, went by skis to the South Pole?? Explain that. And, don't try an "easy way out" by calling it a lie. It was not.
1
@jesusfreak2017 OK. Problem is: I don't see what evindence there is that the Bible is more right than any other religious scripture. Nothing points to the conclusion that the God in the Bible is the only true one. Also: We can't determine what was possible or not in the instant of Big Bang, since not only space, energy, matter and time was "created" then, but also the natural laws. "Cause and effect" had no meaning by then.
1
@ohmphthschwrhu Well, I don't really see how multiple Universes would explain why, and how, our Universe came to be. It still must have started somehow. The only thing we can be quite sure about, is that the Universe seems to exist... :)
1
@BeakyRed Big Bang has NOT been "debunked", even if there are some scientists doubting the theory. Life and consiousness didn't come "bang!". They weren't created at the Big Bang, tthey came billions of years later, by the interactivity of chemical substances
1
@thatsmekarlijn Many animals can pass on knowledge by showing how to do. Chimps for example. Only humans can pass on knowledge by just making sounds or drawing symbols. You actually said that You disagree with me that other animals can get "all the knowledge they need". The predators eat meat because they can't live by eating just plants. It's not their choise or "instinct". It's the evolution. We, like pigs and bears, can eat "everything".
1
@puggymonster I know, but from time to time it's interesting to try. Some religious people can accept most of the scientifical findings, some just deny everything that goes against their holy books, regardless of evidence.
1
Can anyone explain Why the aliens would be humanoids? Did they also evolve from apes? Or, is it just Because of bad sense for imagination?
1
@JazWeav18 And where did Your God come from? What did he do before creating Universe? Why did he do it? A god creating Universe doesn't answer any questions. Just creating more of them.
