  2. That’s the smart thing to do. Jumping in to save a drowning person is the worst thing you can do, and in this situation, would have led to more casualties.

  4. I’ve been caught in a small rip tide. You can plan all you want for the situation, but once you’re caught in one, all that goes out the window. Swimming in any direction in a rip tide is not nearly as easy as you think it is. Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the nose.
