  2. The US can only do this because of world reserve currency status and the petro dollar. Rivals have been attempting to dismantle that, and when they do, the US military won’t be able to cash those checks. Will those brave men and women fight for their country for free like the Russians and Chinese might?

  3. The Chinese aren’t interested in military adventurism or destabilizing regions to get what they want, like America does. China just does business and gives those regions ownership stake, so they have incentive to keep things tidy.

  6. It’d be impossible, numerically, for America to occupy China. It can’t even occupy Afghanistan, which is considered the boonies. Once nukes are involved, well, it was all fun while it lasted.
