  1. She did the right thing. She camped next to a man made structure, made signs, and stayed in shelter. It was just her bad luck that the cowboy that was normally on duty was on vacation. Her desperate walk was actually the first mistake she made.

  4. This is where the fun begins of course, being an idiot led her to this situation, but once she got in trouble, she did the right things. She did not know walking would get her a signal; that was more out of desperation from being alone for 5 days.

  5. Don Gray I was saying she was doing the correct things when she was already in the mess. Of course, she screwed up a lot to get to that point. When you are lost, your best bet is to stay in one place and in your vehicle. The fact that the sentry guard was on vacation was out of her control. Had it been any other day, she would have been found the next day.

  7. I don’t know why people think they are saving money by going on a partial tank of gas. You’re going to burn the same amount of gas anyway, so may as well fill up all the way.
