With no air support, it’s virtually impossible. This has been a suicide mission from the start.

@alexalys if they are saying it’s 1:1, then it’s not a reliable source.
40
But the Ukrainians are charging into the mines in human wave tactics. There are plenty of grisly videos of it online.
36
@javierititin the western maps using satellites that even western media publishes. How much in denial are you going to be?
18
Yeah, the video fails to mention that the AFU is struggling to even reach the starting line. The Russian defensive effort hasn’t even begun yet.
17
@alexalys what makes Oryx valid? It’s run by guys that worked for Bellingcat and British Intelligence. Weren’t they quitting after AFU started losing western tanks and could no longer disguise their Soviet gear losses as Russian losses?
16
@drewwilliams6888 Western armies hadn’t fought a real war where they didn’t enjoy air superiority since WW2.
14
February 2022 was Ukraine’s best chance at dealing a blow to Russia. At the time, the SMO only consisted of republic militia and mercenaries and they didn’t have time to dig in solid defense lines. Ukraine had a huge numerical advantage back then, which is not the case now.
11
Also that Ukraine used to have an Air Force, and now it does not.
8
The danger of using historic parallels is that you selectively choose instances of victory, without examining the conditions of said victory.
7
I think that’s secretly what these “training” sessions are for. NATO actually needs to learn from the AFU on how to fight a real war.
6
@NerickovaNoha well, which is why they used to have numerical advantage.
6
@alexalys western media cites them because they are essentially British intelligence.
5
Zelensky is a clown puppet actor and his Cabinet are his literal movie producers. They viewed this war exactly as a Hollywood movie. They even had a big, Summer blockbuster sizzle reel for the offensive.
5
Lol, the West was hyping this offensive for months. Don’t pretend it didn’t happen.
4
That’s probably how they actually planned this offensive. Wonder when Cobra Commander will show up?
3
You know in his mind he was restraining himself.
3
@bradleyheights5905 the Patriot missile system is about that age too. Your F16s are even older. So your point about weapon system age is moot. And Russia controls over 20% of Ukraine land that the AFU has lost hundreds of thousands of men, and already tens on thousands in close to 2 months of an offensive that hadn’t even reached the 1st line of defense. Ukraine is getting slaughtered.
3
Oh? So what is their schedule, then?
2
@Tahoe756 sources for what?
2
You are in a fantasy land. Go study how the defensive line works.
2
Looks like the sobering reality has finally hit the West. And if the dam bursting helps Ukraine, then why would Russia do it?
2
@cadicamo8720 I never said it would be easy. I just said that was their best shot.
2
@appstratum9747 this video is straight up saying the AFU offensive is floundering.
2
Don’t fall into the trap of parallels to historic battles. Russia has a better grasp of war history than most in the West.
2
@bradleyheights5905 that was when Russia was fighting the SMO with a small, expeditionary force, which gained over 20% of Ukraine and is still annexed, to this day. Now, Ukraine no longer enjoys a numerical advantage and they’re getting chewed up before they even reach the 1st line of defense. And if Bakhmut is such a small, insignificant city, then how embarrassing the AFU lost so many of their best men in the meat grinder and how they are losing even more trying to get it back.
2
@javierititin what are you even talking about? The defensive lines are there, dude. I dunno what other sources you need to see them.
2
@javierititin Karkhiv only happened because Russia didn’t have enough manpower in the SMO and didn’t have time to build defenses. Ukraine no longer has numerical advantage. And Russia is starting to roll back AFU in Karkhiv. Once AFU loses its men in this failed offensive, Russia will be able to counterattack unimpeded.
2
@infinitum2013 except Maj. Gen. Andriy Kovalchuk disclosed that the Ukrainians have been shooting HIMARS missiles at the dam. Who are your random, anonymous “Russian telegrams?”
1
Where would you get the aircraft? Who will pilot them? Where would they take off from?
1
@johnmichaelson9173 I have. Have you?
1
@Broken_dish you don’t know that
1
@Mortimer78 when will the West ramp up production? Who is going to go into a war economy for Ukraine?
1
@kiberwolf9403 Russian factories are pumping out nearly unlimited amounts of ammo. Where are you getting the idea they can’t keep up?
1
@JohnDretired ruble is performing great!
1
@Kevik70 I wouldn’t know the exact numbers. But they don’t seem a shell shortage, now do they? Unlike Biden that admitted NATO is out of ammo.
1
Support and time will not magically conjure air support. That kind of thing takes years to develop.
1
@buravan1512 they used to have them, but not anymore.
1
@exodia9012 but if they stay on defense, they will never regain territory and will continue to lose men.
1
To the last Ukrainian, apparently.
1
They didn’t have a choice. All that gear needs years of training, but they condensed it into a couple months. Whatever is happening on the battlefield is exactly what’s expected of poorly trained forces.
1
@bradleyheights5905 how? They’re not the ones rushing into minefields without air and artillery cover.
1
@bradleyheights5905 that’s because Ukraine inherited a formidable Soviet air defense. And Ukraine hadn’t even reached the 1st line of defense, so I don’t know where you are getting the idea that Russians are collapsing. This very video proves you wrong.
1
@Xxpsg19 those units take months of training and years to be proficient. NATO condensed the training down to a few weeks. This is playing out as disastrously as expected.
