  3. You guys are just projecting. China prefers economic leverage, as opposed to military incursions. When was the last time in recent history that China made any significant military action against another sovereign nation? Then compare that to the number of conflicts waged by America, the West, and NATO, and you can see they are overwhelmingly the biggest cause of global war and suffering. You're worried about the wrong threat.

  5. They've seen what the US and NATO have done. They leave Afghanistan holding the bag. They use Ukraine as a proxy war for profit. ASEAN would be unwise to put too much trust in any world power bearing gifts and promises. It seems very often, that when they offer protection, they seem to find trouble right away.
