It's artificial scarcity. There's no reason they couldn't just ramp up production and make more.

@nicolashrv like I said, it’s artificial scarcity. They have every ability to produce more and even destroy excess inventory. It’s a fake shortage.

@nicolashrv yes, but that exclusivity is artificial. It’s not something truly rare like gold or a Da Vinci because they can manufacture many of those cars, but simply choose not to.

@nicolashrv why are you so stubborn? Anything made in a sweatshop is not scarce. The factory workers can literally leave the lights on after hours and pump out the exact same product for pocket money and nobody could tell the difference. That’s the scam of artificial scarcity.

@johnrichmond.4783 Bad take. The video says it keeps you poor; not makes you poor. If you are poor and engage in unnecessary spending, you will obviously stay poor. He provided data that people are buying this stuff with pay-later apps, meaning they cannot afford it. And rich people don't go to pawnshops. How far Right do you have to be to not see how this works?

@Bellissima2k we are talking about psychological manipulation. Just like how you’ve been programmed by free market fundamentalism.

@johnrichmond.4783 why would a wealthy person take a Rolex to a pawn shop for such a small loan? I don’t think you know any rich people at all…

Celebrities get paid to wear designer clothes or get them as gifts. Only suckers pay money for them.

It's for people that want to appear rich. The celebrities all get paid to wear these brands or get them as gifts. Only suckers are paying money for them. Truly wealthy people actually try to hide it and not draw attention to themselves.

Because the poor wearing Prada go out of their way to not look poor. A lot of them eat cup ramen and couch surf just so they can afford a bag.

@daCubanaqt not necessarily true. Luxury brands will save “exclusive” products for VIPs, but there will be “aspirational” and “affordable” product lines for everyone else to dump their money into.
