Comments by "" (@ericp1139) on "How Police Are Cracking Down on Counterfeit Goods" video.
If a product can have a knock off that’s nearly indistinguishable, then you’re paying a sucker fee for the real deal.

This doc is really trying to conflate them. As if buying fake pills and fake shoes are on the same level.

@fabiangonzalez-cortes8894 why should I care who makes it? A Chinese family has the same right to eat as anyone else.
27
@nootboot9744 if you’re out there buying fake meds, that’s kind of on you.
17
It shouldn’t even be up to the government to waste resources protecting corporate bottom lines. Companies either need to produce something harder to counterfeit, or stop gauging consumers over a label.
16
They can only tell the ones they can tell.
4
@worldchangingvideos6253 how would you not know? You should be buying straight from the source. If you’re getting cheap stuff on eBay, you should know it’s buyer beware. If a licensed professional sells you fake stuff, then that’s a crime.
3
Yeah, anyone buying a fake isn’t looking to pawn it with a collector/dealer. They just want to flash it at a cocktail mixer.
3
And yet, 1.4 billion Chinese are living just fine. You can go visit, if you want.
2
@quentinmims9400 so there we have it. You’re an absolutist nationalist. It doesn’t matter how bad your own country is, as long as you have bigotry for another.
2
@fabiangonzalez-cortes8894 why are they your enemy? What has the CCP done to you? You’d rather let your US tax dollars drone strike a kid in Pakistan?
2
@quentinmims9400 then you know China is not as bad as everyone is saying. Where did you visit?
1
@quentinmims9400 the government is hardly a factor in every day life there, any more than the Feds would be in the US or Interpol in EU. You can’t tell me the people in Wuhan or Beijing were living like fearful, oppressed slaves?
1
@quentinmims9400 you can say that about any country. In the US, all you see are pro-nationalism and anti-Chinese propaganda. And immigrants are hardly a reliable source, since they had motivation to leave. Americans immigrate too, but we call them “expats.”
1
@worldchangingvideos6253 no it’s not.
1
@quentinmims9400 how are you comparing your father’s Russia to modern China? Because “communist” is in the name? You’ve been to China, and you know it’s not as bad as you’re saying.
1
@quentinmims9400 I understand what you’re saying. But if quality of life is indistinguishable between the countries, then why hate on an invisible government? The CCP has just as much influence of daily life in China as Feds do in the US.
1
@quentinmims9400 who is saying anything about being invincible?
1
@ellie_5276 but people buying fakes already know they don’t perform the same. They just want to mimic the brand.
1
@Jo he’s already admitted he’d pay a higher price as long as the taxes go to the US, even if it is spent on drone striking children. It’s not a moral high ground; just a racist and nationalist one.
1
@MRgrimlock84 you have any proof of that? China treats terrorist ETIM (America branded them terrorists too, look it up) much better than the US does war crimes in Gitmo and Abu Ghraib. Get that virtue signaling out of here.
1
@thelambsauce490 they can also be straight up the same thing, just made after hours or under the table. They’re unauthorized, but literally the same thing.
1
@danix2118 do you wear name brands for the inside?
1
@MithunOnTheNet R&D into a shoe? It’s not like it’s going into space.
1
@cx5870 what research? It’s not like you’re sending those shoes to space?
1
@cx5870 uh huh, and how much you think that really costs? Is it expensive to stamp “Supeme” on a brick?
1
@clarkkent1521 or just a lab grown diamond. Again, if nobody can tell the difference, then what’s the difference?
1
@wrongshirts7375 again, brands are selling a lifestyle and image. The product itself is not unique and supply can easily be flooded. Maybe they should devote their talents to areas of actual value.
1
@oliveoil3917 if glamorous brands exist, so will the rip-offs. The brands are all about luring peasants into spending money on lifestyles they can’t afford.
