@wwesuperstar1100 national security? Our defense industry is centered around profit.
15
Ideally, yes. But do you trust the US government to abide by those disciplines?
11
@sich-b7i since when did the US Army have any say over the government?
6
@nateh145 so the US is under a military junta?
6
@sich-b7i nobody in the chain cares about anything but enriching themselves. Senators will fight to keep factories in their districts to produce things that are not needed. Money flows through executive bonuses. Weapons are designed to be expensive to buy and maintain. You are naive to think the defense budget has national security in mind. If that’s the case, why are you so low in simple artillery shells?
6
@andremrh7690 hope is not a strategy. You place a lot of faith in the US government to do the right thing.

I’m sure Raytheon will be happy to fleece the American taxpayer.
4
America doesn’t manufacture anymore. Everything had been outsourced overseas.
4
Where, exactly did Russia use clusters and white phosphorous?
3
@Deltasquadformingup if NATO can strike Russian factories, then Russia can reciprocate. They have the same type of weaponry.
2
Defense contractors don’t care about low profit margin shells. They want the expensive, high tech stuff so they can buy their Ferraris.
2
@@thenutsonyourchin my sweet, summer child. Go buy Raytheon stock then.
2
So…the West is admitting they are running out of ammo.
1
It’s not. That’s a pretty sad output.
1
@far_centrist and that’s not counting the vast Soviet stockpiles.
1
@Deltasquadformingup why would Russia need to set foot in America? US can’t invade Russia either.
1
@andremrh7690 I think that much we can agree on.
1
Where had Russia used clusters? Ukraine just shot them into the center of Donetsk the other day.
1
All of NATO promising to scale up cannot catch up to the production levels of Russia. And that’s not even accounting for the sleeping Chinese giant.
