@Sparta955 China’s trade with the US is not a very large percentage with the rest of its trade partners. They could afford to take the hit. But all you have to do is see how the world suffers from Russian sanctions, and imagine how many times worse it would be if applied to the 2nd largest economy.

HKers thought they were British and superior to other Asians. Now they know how the British really see them as.

@michaelfried3123 as if food isn’t produced anywhere else in the world?
3
China gets its oil from Russia and the Middle East. It’s not like OPEC+ is bailing out the US.
1
Propaganda cuts both ways. All the things you hear about China from Western media is mirror imaged in China. We all need to cut through the noise.
1
China has no desire to invade Taiwan. This whole narrative is manufactured by the West to drum up war consent. Mind your own business. Ukraine, Africa, China? How many wars do you guys want to fight?
1
@lordmashie they speak of peaceful re-integration. Maybe you’ll get some hardliners, but like every society, it is a spectrum. For the most part, most Chinese don’t even talk about America or Taiwan in their daily lives.
1
@lordmashie well, who are some prominent hardliners? And don’t they have a right to respond to American provocation? We see how america gets angry when China sets up shop in Cuba and sends ships near Alaska. Provocation naturally elicits response.
1
@lordmashie does Hawaii have the right to partner with anyone else? If China started giving assistance and fomented separatist elements in Hawaii, would your argument still stand?
1
@lordmashie news flash: even the US recognizes Taiwan is China. So yes, the scenario is apples to apples. How would the US respond?
1
@lordmashie you’re splitting hairs. I’m saying, what if China armed and encouraged the existing separatist groups in Hawaii?
1
@lordmashie aside from nitpicking historical context, they are the similar cases. You don’t want to acknowledge the scenario because you know how america would react.
1
@lordmashie same reason the Hawai’ian Sovereign Movement want independence from the mainland from their illegal invasion of the US. The only difference here is America actually invaded their island while China did not plan to until American provocation.
1
@lordmashie ugly fact is, America actually illegally invaded and colonized their island. And there is a lot of support for Hawaiian sovereignty. And if China started fomenting those groups, America would invade again. And you know it. Which is why you are evading the issue.
1
@lordmashie when was the last illegal war or invasion that China waged? And what about the US? I think it’s easy to see 1 is the greatest threat to global security.
1
A better question is: does america really want to trigger global nuclear annihilation?
1
Because the West won’t attack other White nations over oil. Simple as that.
1
@Sparta955 what does that have to do with reliance on the US? China has large global trade.
1
@del.see.oh.89 how would the US thrive? It’s already suffering for the Russian sanctions.
1
@yopyop3241 the world is already suffering from the Russian sanctions. China is far more vital to global trade, so whatever inflation or shortage you experience now will be magnified.
1
@yopyop3241 maybe rich Americans can afford it, but many are starting to feel the pinch. America has only known prosperity in modern history, so they will suffer the most when things go bad.
1
Why? China never had a desire to invade.
1
Judging at how badly the Russian sanctions have backfired on the world, I would say the world could not survive a sanction on China.
1
Sure feels like the West is attempting to build war consent for Taiwan like they did with Ukraine.
