If the UK really cared, they would have granted all HKers full citizenship, instead of concocting this scheme to squeeze money out them for a few years, then boot them back to China, where they won’t be welcome anymore. And I’m sure Brits are just going to welcome this influx of foreigners in with welcome arms. And to HKers, to the rest of the world, you’re Chinese.
