Comments by "" (@ericp1139) on "Russia gains ground in Donbas while Ukraine steps up counter offensive in the south | Ukraine Update" video.
Yeah, I don’t know why the West is treating this like some kind of sprinting competition? Why does Russia need to win this quickly?

They’ve been talking about this Ukraine counteroffensive for months now. When’s it going to happen? Where are the forces staged?

@easymoney8535 what metrics are you using? Define “small.”
2
@howl-xm well, if they destroy the bridges, then that means Ukraine can’t retake their territory either.
1
@howl-xm but whatever crossing Ukraine can do, then Russia can do too. And it’s unknown if Russia even used that particular bridge for heavy transport. There are 2 other bridges that are better suited and much harder to destroy. This just seems like another desperate attempt for a narrative win.
1
@howl-xm seems to me the news reports only highlight this 1 bridge that seems like the least useful one. And like I said, a bridge works both ways. The Ukrainians have not launched a major counteroffensive this whole war, so a complicated one like you mention seems like a tall order, and it may be them that walks into a trap?
1
@howl-xm because if they can’t use the bridge, then can’t liberate the other side of the river either. Bridge works both ways.
1
@howl-xm so then Ukraine doesn’t want anything south of the bridge back?
1
@howl-xm then Russia can do that too…
1
@howl-xm tried what?
1
Yup. If Russia wanted to annihilated everything, it could. The reason it takes so long to capture territory, is that Russia wants to actually use the infrastructure right away, so they don’t want to damage it too much.

@williamwyllie7072 how much will be “enough?”
1
@marksnyder8022 how have the Russians been incompetent?
1
@marksnyder8022 if a military fails in one tactic and pivots to something that’s winning, isn’t that a sign of competency?
1
@marksnyder8022 they are taking Ukraine territory and de-militarizing them by the day. How is that not competency?
1
@marksnyder8022 by what standard are you using? How much land should they have taken, and in how much time would satisfy you?
