Comments by "" (@ericp1139) on "NATO summit: No consensus on how to deal with Ukraine's membership ambitions | DW News" video.
It’s severe shortsightedness of NATO. They thought sanctions would cripple Russia and that the Russians were fighting with only shovels and low morale.

This is the great summer probing operation.
3
@@MilitantPacifist69NATO provocation.
2
The US had promised not to move NATO one inch more to the East back then. Perhaps they should honor their promises?
2
With that mentality, then you make war and escalation inevitable.
2
The agreement is that the nukes should be given to the primary country that could adequately store and maintain them, which is Russia. Ukraine is the most corrupt nation in Europe, so there was no way anyone was letting them have nukes.
2
@thegreatdane3627 why not? They have huge stockpiles of old Soviet stuff. Drones take out T-55s just as easily as Leopards. That’s why UK told Zelensky to hold the Challengers back and why the US will delay the Abrams indefinitely.
1
Because Ukraine lost its sovereignty in 2014 when the US overthrew their democratically elected government. Ukrainians are just pawns for Washington.
1
@willaimoconnell9430 so, you’re saying people don’t make a fortune off war?
1
Alcoholic convicts with shovels and low morale.
1
Maybe the US will look for an exit strategy. With sky high inflation and increasing domestic crises, the people might wonder why so much money is spent to fatten the NATO apparatus.
1
@putinmustenduplikegaddafi2236 what’s a lie?
1
@thegreatdane3627 you mean the old Soviet inheritance? Well, now that the Western equipment is more distinguishable and can’t just be spray painted with a Z, it seems the West is donating to Russia.
1
@putinmustenduplikegaddafi2236 Russia hasn’t been proven to have destroyed the dam either, any more than Nordstream. And the US hella carpet bombed in WE2 and even nuked a couple times for hood measure. Many innocent civilians have been slaughtered by America.
1
@thegreatdane3627 the West are going into recessions and depressions. We all see the riots in France. The Russian economy is expected to grow next year. Russian industry is built to win wars, western industry is built to profit.
1
@thegreatdane3627 and Russia is expected to recover and have growth, which means the sanctions didn’t work. And who will be the next to “mutiny?” And if your best hope to win is a coup, and not on the battlefield, then you may need to reconsider your strategy.
1
Well, bye bye universal healthcare and pensions then.
1
@putinmustenduplikegaddafi2236 very narrow goal posts won’t excuse the US from its illegal wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, etc
1
Why is China a threat? What war have they started in recent history? I’d say the US is the greatest threat to the world.
1
Regime change!
1
@denismorgan9742 Ukraine will only last as long as it’s donors keep it on life support. As soon as the West stops propping them up, they will collapse instantly.
1
More like more money the US needs to spend. NATO can’t even move tanks around Europe since the infrastructure isn’t feasible. If a war happened today, NATO could not defend itself.
1
@snowpuddle9622 hose 1944 shells sure leveled all those Ukrainian buildings pretty effectively then. And they sure prevented the AFU offensive from even reaching the 1st line of defense.
1
@snowpuddle9622 how so?
1
@snowpuddle9622 not sure if you were joking about the age of the shells. I’m just saying whatever they’re using seems to work effectively.
1
@snowpuddle9622 have you seen before and after pictures of Bakhmut? You guys have been saying Russia would run out of ammo since last year. They are using up their vast sticks of Soviet area shells while producing new ones. This, at a time even Biden admits NATO has run out of ammo and has to resort to cluster munitions to fill the gap.
1
Sweden and Finland had been unofficial NATO for decades, so nothing really changes. If Russia really feared them, they would just launched some missiles into Finland to prevent them from joining NATO.
