  1.  @Briggsian  it’s about carbon footprint. That gold mining equipment ain’t running on clean energy. And the mines are a toxic wasteland after they’re done with it.

  3. Since when does CNBC care about carbon emissions? Bitcoin uses energy arbitrage. They use renewables and capture excess energy that would have gone to waste. They are catching wasted energy; energy is not being produced for Bitcoin.
