  3. When I lived in Los Angeles, the Metro law enforcement and later their civilian weasels authorized to write tickets on their behalf, were checking TAP cards. However, I noticed how selectively they checked them for only certain passengers (ie white or Asian). Black and Hispanic passengers were NEVER asked to show proof of valid entry fare, from what I observed. I was checked twice on the same ride, the guy wanted to check my TAP card a third time but both his partner and three other passengers told him “You already checked her card!”. It’s not race that is the issue with me, but selective enforcement of the rules.

There was no room in the county jail (so they claimed), and I spent NINE MONTHS waiting for my trial before being found “not guilty” due to insufficient evidence, malicious prosecution, and violation of some of my rights. Yet this little punk was let out repeatedly for worse than what I was accused of doing…

He had to get a permit to purchase, and to have that permit approved he needed to prove he had purchased a firearms storage safe which he did, and had to prove it was mounted to the floor and to the wall and it had to have an internal compartment for ammo and said compartment had to lock independently of the main door of the safe. A police sergeant signed off on that and my brother then got his permit to purchase approved, along with his license to own also approved after that. He had to pay $55 and renew every three years for the same. Then they tried to up the fees. By then he had finally gotten out of NYC, he took the shotgun and even the safe with him.

  36. When I was in NYC, back in ‘07, this one dance company had a ballerina who was male-to-female trans, pre op. She stayed out of the ladies’ locker room and toilets, kept a low profile, the directors and instructors generally left her alone. Some of the other ballerinas and a few of the more vindictive teachers/directors instigated harassing her. They called her hateful names, some even grabbed her between the legs at the gusset of her leotard and would yell “A-HAAAA!” followed by fake gasps and such. I and a few other dancers as well as one teacher and one director stepped in to defend her, we got in trouble for it and eventually fired. But it was worth it to stand up for a friend, I wish her well wherever she is now. My sympathies and best wishes to you, as well.

I went to school, took up part time work, did extracurricular activities such as theater, dance, gymnastics, and swimming. Sure, I got into a little mischief now and then, such as TP’ing houses, drinking, smoking cigars, sparking a j, sneaking into R rated movies, playing hooky now and then, trying on clothes at the mall while farting in them and putting them back before making a minimal purchase, or flirting with some of the food court vendors into giving me free fries or a free drink, but that was [mostly] normal for my demographic and time. I didn’t loot, destroy stuff, and start fires.

  332. Back in the ‘70s, in Southern California my dad stayed on the roof of our house and was armed with a shotgun, a bandolier full of 12 gauge rounds, and a Colt 1911 .45 ACP. The local news showed hooligans from East L.A. coming up to our neighborhood and looting businesses and houses during the chaos of a forest fire. After being on the phone with the local police, he asked what they would do regarding the looters. The police said “You’re on your own, take the law into your own hands. Good luck, and God bless!”. Our dad did just that. He barricaded all entry points at ground level, sent my mom and older siblings to a relative’s house as a precaution, and stayed on the roof with his guns and ammo. Gangs of of looters in pickup trucks pulled up into our driveway and that of our neighbors. My dad and a few of our neighbors who were armed and on their rooftops told the looters to go away. The looters said “You’ll probably just lose everything in the forest fires!” Our dad and our armed neighbors said “We would rather lose it to fire than to looter scum like you!”. The looters realized my dad and other armed neighbors would create a kill zone, with all of them armed and in that target pattern. They fled, and instead robbed our unarmed, anti gun neighbors who chided my dad and our neighbors for having guns, those same wimpy anti gun neighbors begged my dad and the other armed neighbors to borrow a gun. They were met with a wall of “No” from them, and the looters cleaned them out. TL/DR: Back in the ‘70s in Southern California, there was a forest fire in my old neighborhood. The news showed East L.A. looters robbing homes and businesses in the chaos. Local PD gave my dad their blessing to protect his home and property. Mom and older siblings evacuated to safety. Dad stayed home and protected our house, as did a few other armed neighbors, and they drove off the looters while armed with guns on their own rooftops. Our anti gun wimpy neighbors scoffed at them at first, then begged to borrow guns from my dad and the other armed neighbors, only to be told “No.” Anti gun unarmed neighbors got robbed.

  853. A friend of mine told me in his neighborhood, this LPO confronted a shoplifter, the shoplifter pulled a gun on the LPO who managed to disarm the shoplifter and got the shoplifter’s gun. The shoplifter dropped the stolen item and fled. The LPO was not only arrested, but fired…all for lawfully disarming a shoplifter and getting the item back. The charges were eventually dropped, cops confiscated the gun (with filed off serial number), but the LPO never got back his job. In fact the state is now threatening to revoke his Guard License.
