Even 'if' all the computers connected to the internet all had the same connection speed, the physical location of the computers relative to one another would still be a real factor.
Let's take only 3 computers connected to the internet, all with the exact same connection speed, A, B, and C.
A and B are very close to one another and C is very far away. The actual transaction time between A and B would be very small versus A and C or B and C. Sure, possibly only micro or smaller fractional seconds difference, but still a difference. A and B would have a location advantage and C would have a location disadvantage.
It's also like Wall Street. Those with the closet physical location to the central computer have a location advantage, coupled with high speed micro trading, can make an entity really rich real fast versus some computer further away and doing relatively slower transactions.
Location matters. Physics of actual reality matters. The system is rigged.
