Questions: What is going to happen when the Earth's magnetic field continues to weaken, (projected to be at it's weakest around 2035), and more and more harmful cosmic radiation energy reaches the surface of this Earth, and us, as well as interacting with those satellites? Plus, the Earth's magnetic poles continue to move, and lately even speeding up in doing so. Currently, the North magnetic pole is moving towards Siberia, and possibly will end up around Indonesia, and the Earth's magnetic poles have flipped numerous times in the past and looks as it will again this century.
And then consider also, it only takes one satellite to fail at a higher orbit, which then could cause a cascading effect of taking out other satellites. I hope people and businesses have good insurance of various kinds.
