QUESTIONS: How many people who have especially expensive degrees are working in the field of their degree? Why go to college and take on so much debt for a degree that is not utilized?

@harls7317 So they would still be utilizing their degree, even if only for social status. And how many people lie about their education and background? (Just basically to impress themselves and/or others).

@josephk362 Or the economy, family status and/or society changes in a negative way and they cannot get a job in their college educated field of study.

@josephk362 Well, it's still kind of true I believe that a higher education can allow one to earn more money and/or have higher benefits in life, it's just that in the last 30 to 40 years now it seems that more and more people that have college degrees wind up not working in the field they went to college for. They have at least one college degree, possibly college debt still, and are not working in the field to earn the higher dollars to pay off their college debt that they went to college for. And likewise, I see more and more people with no college degree having jobs and earning more money than some people with college degrees. Which of course also leads to your last part of your statement, "but people are smarter now". True in many ways, in large part I believe due to the internet, and of course even YouTube here.

@aae7583 Don't doctors, lawyers, etc who go to college and work in those fields complete tasks? And also, your answer does not answer the questions in the opening thread. The opening thread dealt with people who went to college, not trade schools. But maybe if you were smarter and/or went to college you would have known that?
