Consider the following:
a. Microbes also exist that feed on non-organic matter. Plus extreme creatures already exist in environments that humans would die in.
b. NASA has already proven that low gravity conditions over a prolonged period of time is harmful to the human species. What other species is prolonged low gravity conditions harmful to?
c. Not having proper protections from harmful cosmic radiation energy, including prolonged neutrino impacts (yes, most neutrinos pass right through us, but not all do), and not only would humans not exist long term, but neither would AI robots.
d. Do ALL galaxies eventually become spiral shaped and collapse in upon themselves? If so, then only those species who make it out of their collapsing galaxy continue to survive, if it's even possible to do for various reasons.
So, vast amounts of life might almost certainly exist in this vast universe, BUT maybe none of them can actually get out of their own backyard so to speak for various reasons, possibly for example not being able to actually have artificial gravity for space bases on planets and moons which would most certainly probably be needed somewhere along the way and/or not having proper protections from harmful cosmic radiation. Maybe they can only gaze out into the vast universe like we do, but possibly never ever can be successful to live out there.
Consider the following as well:
* There are 3 basic options for life itself, which reduce down to 2, which reduce down to only 1:
a. We truly have some sort of actual conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
b. We die trying to truly have some sort of actual conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
c. We die not trying to truly have some sort of actual conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
* 3 reduced down to 2:
a. We truly have some sort of actual conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
b. We don't. And note, two out of the three options above, we die.
* 2 reduced down to 1:
a. We truly have some sort of actual conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
b. We truly don't have any conscious existence throughout all of future eternity.
(And note, these two appear to be mutually exclusive. Only one way would be really true.)
