@Frank00064 Honestly and sincerely try to answer these following questions:
1. What exactly matters throughout all of future eternity and to whom does it exactly and eternally matter to?
(The current analysis that I have done indicates that nothing ultimately matters in the grand scheme of things. Currently, we are all going to die one day from something, will all forget everything we ever knew and experienced, and will all be forgotten one day in future eternity as if we never ever existed at all in the first place. Life itself only matters to life itself only as long as life itself is still alive, it's just that one day, there is not going to be any life left from this Earth, probably not from this entire solar system, probably also not from this entire galaxy, and even possibly not from this entire universe. It all depends upon what is really true or not in this cause and effect state of existence we appear to exist in.)
2. But then anyway, how exactly should we, individually and as a society of individuals, exist while we do exist? And who decides? And by what authority do they and they alone get to decide? Should I decide how you should live? Should you decide how I should live? Should we decide how others should live? Should others decide how we should live? And who decides even in how to decide? And by what authority do they and they alone get to decide?
(There is a natural tension between what is best for an Individual versus what is best for a larger society of individuals, and this tension, along with who's 'best' should take precedent over another's 'best', and who decides, and by what authority they and they alone get to decide, is the cause of much strife, suffering and death in this world. But still, how exactly do we, individually and as a society of individuals, want to exist while we do exist? We do have choices, with all the consequences and ramifications, seen and unseen, of all those choices. Then no matter what we all choose, it still appears we are all going to die, forget everything, and be forgotten. Nature is our greatest ally in so far as Nature gives us life and a place to live it, AND Nature is also our greatest enemy that is going to take it all away. [OSICA] )
3. How exactly should the young, old, ill and needy be taken care of, if even at all?
(And note, the 6th mass extinction event has already started upon this Earth and the 6th won't be the last.)

Greg Lautigar THIS IS MY CURRENT VIEW OF REALITY (IN PART):
What exactly matters throughout all of future eternity and to whom does it eternally matter to?
God alone? and/or Me too? and/or Some other entity or entities?
OR
To no eternally existent entity at all?
1. Does God actually factually exist? Where is any actual evidence of God's actual existence? Sure, circumstantial arguments could be made for God existing, but so can circumstantial arguments be made against God existing. Myself personally, I cannot prove God exists and neither can I prove God does not exist, so I try to keep my mind open concerning the existence of God. But, just believing something to be true, even with one's own whole 'heart, soul, and mind' so to speak, does not automatically mean that what one believes to be true is in fact actually true. Sure it could be really true, but without some sort of evidence to back up those beliefs, one might just be believing in fairy tales as if those fairy tales were really true. Sure it might make you happier, but others might look at you as being deluded, of which you really might be. The world is not flat nor do we exist in a geo-centric solar system as many people used to believe with their whole 'heart, soul and mind' so to speak. But at this time in the analysis, without actual evidence of God's actual existence, God most probably does not actually exist. (But I acknowledge sure, God could exist, but where is the evidence?)
2. While I could actually be immortal in some state of existence, the current evidence and analysis would indicate that I am not. While science does not fully know what 'consciousness' actually is, nor how memories are stored and retrieved, nor how thoughts actually occur, they do all appear to be functions of our physical brain. When our brain stops functioning for it's final time, 'we' die, for all of future eternity it currently appears. We will forget everything we ever knew and experienced. The sum total of our existence will be only what we leave behind, including how our existence affected the larger society that we existed in. The only 'soul' that I have found to exist so far could possibly be our DNA. It's how a bird knows how to fly, a fish knows how to swim and how a baby knows how to cry. Their respective DNA. In that context, the 'soul' comes into existence when the first molecule of DNA comes about and the 'soul' ceases to exist when the last molecule of DNA breaks apart. There is no eternal soul that I am currently aware of and there are no other 'souls' that I am currently aware of.
3. While many religions believe in immortal entities, there is currently no actual evidence that I am aware of that those such entities actually exist. Sure, they might exist, but then, where is the evidence of their existence? It might just be more fairy tale beliefs that people believe are true but are not actually true.
So, by default, we are left with the later item above, 'To no eternally existent entity at all'.
So now, either one species truly exists throughout all of future eternity by some means, even if only by eternal evolution, or none do. If none do, then one day all of existence itself would be forgotten as there wouldn't be a consciously existent entity left to care.
Of which, our true destiny would be:
a. We are ALL going to die one day from something.
b. We are ALL going to forget everything we ever knew and experienced.
c. We are ALL going to be forgotten one day in future eternity as if we never ever existed at all in the first place.
AND, the current analysis also indicates that ONLY those species that make it off of this Earth and out of this solar system continue to survive, everybody else dies and goes extinct.
AND, the current analysis also indicates that ONLY those species that make it out of this galaxy continues to survive, everybody else dies and goes extinct.
AND NOTE: I believe modern science is wrong about this expanding universe for various reasons, it's more probable our galaxy is collapsing in upon itself giving us a relative perspective of an expanding universe. ONLY those species that make it out of this galaxy then would have to stay alive by some means to potentially fill the rest of the universe. Otherwise, all species from Earth die and go extinct with no conscious entities being left to care. Of which then, 'what exactly matters throughout all of future eternity?', absolutely nothing at all because there wouldn't be any conscious entity left for anything or anyone to matter to, at least not from this Earth.
Choices in life. What do we, individually and as a society of individuals, choose? The very survival of any species from this Earth is at stake. Choose wisely.
