  1. Quarks supposedly carry a charge. It probably has a magnetic field associated with it. Couldn't it be a magnetic field interaction that could "control" what quarks do? In school with magnetism we are taught that unlike poles attract and like poles repel. But inside the arc of a horseshoe magnet it's the other way around like poles attract and unlike poles repel. Is it this interaction of magnetic fields that allows quarks to become protons or neutrons and to allow protons and neutrons to stick together inside a nucleus and that there are really no such things as "gluons"?
