If the facts warrant it, then the Democrats would be negligent for not pursuing an impeachment of Trump. If and when this nation's democracy goes down the tubes, history would at least show who's side the Democrats and Republicans were truly on. If the facts warrant Trump being impeached, then impeachment should be pursued, by both parties. If not, then not. But if so, and the Republicans don't also support impeachment, (and it would appear that they would probably not, under basically any circumstances), then the Republican party would basically be a traitor to the Democracy of these United States and the politicians, including Trump, would have violated their oath of office.
Specifically, for the President of the United States, The Constitution of the United States, Article II, Section 1, (in part):
"Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation: - "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.""
It's up to 'We The People' to help hold our politicians to account. Not only is it our right to do so, but it is our duty to do so, per the Declaration Of Independence. Otherwise, kiss America's democracy goodbye.
