  1. Sure, North Korea denuclearizes and gets what they can get from the USA. Then North Korea goes into cahoots with China and/or Russia to have their back like the USA does with Israel, maybe even allowing China and/or Russia to have a military base or two on North Korea's land, which would also help strengthen North Korea's economy as well as expand China and/or Russia. Then if the USA ever attacked North Korea, the USA would have to contend with China and/or Russia, both of which are nuclear powers in their own rights. I don't have to have nukes if my friends have nukes. It's possible the USA is getting played yet again.

  2. Craig Lee Well, if there is something in it for them, like expanding their military reach in this world, they might make exceptions. All I'm saying is that sure, North Korea might actually denuclearize and will get what they can get from the USA, then the China and/or Russia friendship would occur. The Korean peninsular might actually end up being worse than it is right now.

  3. food Possibly, but then China is also expanding in the China sea by building their own island with a military base on it. If they could have a land military base in their own neighbor's country, that would just make China's military reach that much more secure. Ditto for Russia. One possible reason they haven't gone in their yet is so that North Korea could play the USA to see what they could get to denuclearize first.

Sure, North Korea might be getting rid of their nukes, BUT if they bring China and/or Russia to each have a military base or two on North Korea's land, there might essentially be many more nukes protecting North Korea than there is right now. Plus, if the USA and/or any other nation attacked North Korea, they would have to also contend with China and/or Russia. If I were 'Un', that's what I would do.

Aaron Scott Whether the USA's military bases stay or go in South Korea is basically irrelevant as far as China and/or Russia putting each possibly putting a military base or two on North Korea's land. China and/or Russia would expand their military reach as well as making North Korea's economy better than it is now. It's a win-win from their perspective.

But now, consider the following: 1. 'Un' denuclearizes North Korea and even let's the world verify that denuclearization, for a price though also, North Korea has to get something in return for that denuclearzation, otherwise, why do it? 2. Then North Korea goes in cahoots with China and/or Russia, not only to have them back North Korea up just as the USA does with Israel, but possibly also allows China and/or Russia to possibly each have a military base or two in North Korea. Then if any entity attacks North Korea, they would have to deal with China and/or Russia too. 3. North Korea's economy improves due to the sanctions being lifted, plus the added economic boost from other nation's military bases being on their land. 4. North Korea obtains protection from China and/or Russia against threats from the USA and/or others. 5. China and/or Russia obtain military bases in another nation to expand their military reach. 6. It's a win-win for North Korea and China and/or Russia. (Not so much for the USA, South Korea, and others). 7. The end result is that while North Korea doesn't have it's own nukes, their friends in China and/or Russia have nukes. (I don't have to have nukes if my friends have nukes). There would probably be more nukes protecting North Korea than there is now. Plus China and/or Russia would be providing protection for North Korea (whose economy would also be growing at this point), plus China and/or Russia would have added military bases in another nation as they expand their military reach. The USA gets played yet again and North Korea and China and/or Russia have a good laugh at the USA's expense. 8. And in that case also, with China and/or Russia being on North Korean soil, so what if the USA has military bases in South Korea? North Korea and China and/or Russia get what they each want. So, how exactly would the world be 'better'? And 'better' for whom?

  9. Joe Hart Don't know if that reply is for me or not, but since it's my thread: No, it's not Debbie Downer. It's the voice of sound logic and reason. If I were 'Un', that is what I would do. Trump threatening North Korea with comments like 'fire and fury like the world has never seen before', might just drive North Korea into the arms of China and/or Russia. Trump might just be making the Korean Peninsular worse than it is now in the longer run as far as the world is concerned.

  10. Albert Smith As to your first part: (China and/or Russia helping North Korea): Some geo-political situations change over time. Why is China all of a sudden building an island in the China sea with a military base upon it? In addition, the 6th mass extinction event is most probably going to start this century due to nature itself. If they just recently found this out, then they are positioning themselves for the future to try to help ensure their survival. Ditto for Russia taking over Crimea and military bases in Syria. North Korea and China and/or Russia might just be able to stick it to the USA and get a good laugh about it all. Now might be just as good a time as any. In addition, Trump never threatened another sovereign nation before with 'fire and fury like the world has never seen before'. The world has seen two atomic bombs dropped on two large cities of innocent Japanese citizens, by the USA no less, so one could expect Trump's threat to be worse than that. (It was Japan's politicians and military that attacked the USA, not it's civilians.) Trump may have caused North Korea to run into the arms of China and/or Russia. As to your second part: (Why the democrats didn't try to undermine Trump), because they know that Trump is probably an idiot and is going to make the situation worse than it already is. In the long run, Trump and the Republicans are possibly going to come out with the short side of the stick. The Republicans had many candidates to pick from and they picked Trump. (And note, I am a political Independent, I can think for myself and not just blindly follow the pack. By existing on the line between 'ying' and 'yang', I can more easily see both sides).

  11. Albert Smith Well let's see: Trump passed into law a massive tax cut, mostly benefiting the wealthy and big business while also massively increasing this nation's debt. So, if you believe this nation being in so much debt is a good thing, then you would possibly be right. I just believe he did the wrong thing that would truly make this nation 'great', (of which this nation never stopped being 'great'). Secondly, Trump is alienating our allies and emboldening our enemies. If you believe that is how to make America 'great', you would possibly be right. I just believe he is doing the opposite of what he should be doing. He is making America 'less great' in this world, not 'more great'. To truly be the 'shining city on the hill', other countries would want to be more like us, and even possibly become one with us, not by force, but willingly. Trump is doing the complete opposite from my perspective. And if the above scenario comes about, he will be making North Korea and China and/or Russia more great and the USA, South Korea and other free nations less great. Or so how I see it all to be. As I don't know what I don't know, I will be the first to admit that I could be wrong. But then some sort of evidence would have to be shown to me as to where I were wrong in my analysis.

  12. Neightrix Prime Completely??? If China and/or Russia back North Korea up just as the USA does for Israel, there will be MORE nukes protecting North Korea than there is now. In addition, if China and/or Russia each put a military base or two on North Korea's soil, then that would also help protect North Korea from the USA's and/or any other nation's bombs and invasions, would boost North Korea's economy even more, and would allow China and/or Russia to expand their military reach. Deranged??? Or just logical and rational thinking. If I were 'Un', that is what I would do to counter Trump's 'fire and fury like the world has never seen before'. Now, if you want to talk 'deranged' individuals, we can do that. But, removing all nukes from the North Korean peninsula might just be a dream, not reality. It all depends upon how it all plays out.
