Consider the following: America is no different to Nature than any other nation. Either a nation survives beyond this Earth, solar system and most probably collapsing spiral shaped galaxy, OR it doesn't. A nation does not have to defeat other nations, it only has to outlast them. Nature will wipe out all that is left on this Earth for them. (Including America if America does not get it's act together as far as a space program goes).
