The right wing should be happy, Trump and his supporters brought back slavery. Workers working without pay. Even illegal Mexicans here in the USA often get paid for their work. Is that another reason why the right wing doesn't like Mexicans because they often get paid for their work? Why pay Mexicans for their work when Americans are forced to do the work for free? Trump is a genius. Trump brought back slavery. And slavery of not just minorities. People who work without money are usually either volunteers or slaves. I don't recall these government workers volunteering to work without ever getting paid for their work, hence they are all slaves. Genius, pure genius. (Note: I am a political Independent and not a right winger nor a left winger. No major political party can win the White House without Independents.)

The 13th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, (of which Trump swore an oath to uphold and defend): "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." They are working without pay for a prolonged period of time and I don't recall any of them volunteering to work without any pay at all. Hence, they are slaves of which slavery is illegal except as stated above. And since they weren't convicted of any crimes, Trump has violated their Constitutional rights and should be prosecuted as such to the fullest extent of the law.

@andrewillianhahn They are working without pay, and initially not even with a promise of future pay, and they didn't volunteer to do so, nor were they convicted of a crime to allow the government to make them slaves, and Trump has even said he might have them work for years without getting paid during that time frame. If that isn't slavery, what else would one call it?

@JohnG1000 Well, since the border agents are not being paid, they must not be needed on the southern border. So let's start their and open up the southern border to all the Mexicans dumb ass. Coast Guard too, and the IRS. We don't need to guard the coasts nor collect money to run this government. One way to shrink the size of government, defund it.

CaptainSpauIding AFTER their bills became due and their utilities were shut off you dumb ass. And that agreement didn't come into existence right away. They still worked without any pay, or guarantee of pay for a period of time. Hence they were slaves during that time frame of which Trump violated their Constitutional rights and should be prosecuted as such to the fullest extent of the law. @SystematicMechanic Initially that wasn't in the deal. They were working without pay and without promise of pay and they didn't volunteer to do so. So, for that time period, Trump treated them all like slaves and violated their Constitutional rights of which they would have a right to sue Trump for doing so. Trump has said he might even have them all work for years without pay. What a literal slave driver.

I would think all you right wingers would be happy that Trump brought back slavery, even including people who aren't minorities.

It wasn't until later that the agreement was made to pay them back wages one day, of which, Trump said the shutdown might last for years. b. Trump is the problem. Trump said he would be proud to shut this government down and would even take ownership of that shutdown. Trump owns this shutdown. This is all on Trump and Trump alone.

@kevinpreston5590 You dumb ass, many ARE FORCED TO WORK WITHOUT PAY. And how exactly are they going to survive for possibly years before they get their back pay? I am glad that you agree that this is Trump's shutdown, at least not all facts are lost in your brain. And it's not the money so much as Trump's promise of where that money should come from, he not only promised over and over and over again that Mexico would pay for the wall, he even guaranteed that Mexico would pay for the wall. You do know what 'guarantee' means don't you? And for those who say that the USMCA will pay for it, a) the USMCA hasn't even been ratified yet, it still might not pass all 3 nations, and b) those people don't really know how international trade actually works.
