China has the worst of both worlds, they manage to combine the worst aspects of communism with the worst aspects of capitalsm. What a nightmare.

Interestingly enough, it still might be the best industrial economy, a "graceful" decline is better than many other options, only one I can think of that is in better shape is Taiwan. But yeah in general the secular industrialized nations in the world have major problems.

Why do nazis have much better fashion sense then commies?

Fallout was right again! Show is pretty good.

He said US is screwed, but 9n the bright side we have a lot of barrier reefs on the east coast. Never noticed til now 😅

I've been a long time doom fan for decades, and always yearned for a good fun doom (like zombie or alien invasion), but also was "pessismistic" because I knew in the back of my mind it likely wouldn't happen because the world was just too... stable. Some of you people aren't paying attention to what is happening of late.

People who believe their own propaganda often meet calamitous ends...

I don't believe its extremely likely the Chinese populace will revolt any time soon (could happen if China gets its ass handed to them by Taiwan). What will most likely happen is the population will just choose to generationally die off, like any other secular industrial civilization as most of its working class populace loses any hope for a good future for themselves or descendants.

The skimming is out of control.

The correlation between China's economic woes and covid are obvious. As usual though, its the causations that's harder to hash out.
1
Factoring everything, including covid, it seems like the sit in China is worse than we are imagining. Having said that, I'm pretty sure Chinese content creators already have created hilarious, tragic and pretty accurate videos of the decline of western countries.

You underestimate warlordism.

It's hopeless. Even in the past, people had silly faith in socialism and secular scientific utopianism, but we don't even have a silly fantastical ideology like that to look forward too.

The only funny thing I seen on TV in the last 30 years when the anchorman said the ME is such a mess, even the Taliban is calling for peace.
1
The only way I legitimately see the Chinese populace rising up is if they ban video games (more extensively than they do now).
1
The other huge red flag is why is China's soft power so damn weak? You have plenty of examples of Chinese diaspora dominating fields, like Taiwan and semiconductors, or elite mathematicians like Terence Tao and Yitang Zhang, part of a small handful of still respectable intellectuals, but they work in American universities.

The US economy is in the toilet, also for immigrants unlike not too long ago where immigrants could come to the US and fairly easily set up a small business. Really makes you wonder what's going on in "prosperous military superpower of the future" China.

There are quite a few naive Xi cultist tiktokers and bots in the comments 😅 The lesson is CCP is rotten, and so is everyone else.
1
CCP could be stupid, but it wouldnt be rational to invade Taiwan, they would get socked in the jaw. Ambhibious assaults are tricky, as we are currently relearning trench and urban warfare are, what a mess,. Og course assuming Taiwan military morale is at least solid.
1
As bad as the US is the rest of the world seems to be in worse shape. Russia was strengthened but they were in bad shape, maybe only India and Brazil might have some glimmer of hope wuth still traditional values and institutions, but neither are exactly paradise.

I thought China might take advantage of the sit now, but let's face it almost all rulers don't want to rock thr boat, and are fine with exploiting their populace to take nice ski vacations in Switzerland for them and their friends and family.
1
From what I can gather, yes there are major problems in China. I can unequivocally say the government perceives the threats of social discontent and a self-harming populace seriously - which is also a MAJOR problem for other secular industrialized nations.
1
I'm thinking now with what we know of the sit in China and Taiwan, China is more likely to grab territory and resources in SE Asia.
1
@chongqingcapybara1306 trying to think thos through like the ccp..Taiwan is a tough nut to crack, think they might go for lower hanging fruits, and resources. Of course assuming they feel pressure to do something with things going terribly.

Ha ha suckers, China is holding the bag.
