  4. Commercial music has just lost its drive and hook - which was a hallmark of pop music. Historically speaking culture was usually divided into high and low/common. Rick, I think we grew up in a cultural golden age where this was not the case. We are actually the ones outside the norm.

  5. I'm not entirely on board with the music is too accessible -> bad. I like a lot of the points it makes, but the issue is (1) Its almost too much overanalysis, we would all initially assume music would get better the more accessible it is, why is it getting worse? (2) There's been a few times in pop music where music got more accessible, and a lot of great stuff came out of it - when pop music turned to the guitar (affordable, portable, versatile), punk movement, electronic music (synthwave,/new wave, rap, dancehall, house/techno)

  6. Great artists of the past often sounded waaaay better live, more authentic and less procesed. Now its the complete opposite of course.
