You seem to be the one with confirmation bias (that's the technical term you were trying to describe) or at least cognitive dissonance... I haven't even offered my opinion about the book, to state that it exists is merely a statement of fact. Besides, you should fight bad ideas with good ideas, not at hanonym attacks, and gaslighting. How do you reconcile arguing with someone that hasn't offered their opinion? Surely we can both agree that: "Kevin wrote a book about this"?

I'm not saying that everything you are saying is untrue, I am saying you should stealman your argument. YOU are missing the point: I can concede that in general you are correct, but you cannot concede that you are not making a straw man argument. That is weak, and undermines the efforts of honest actors.
