  1. We have to keep using old-fashioned icons (TVs, phones, floppy disks) because there are no distinct replacements. We do everything now with a small black rectangle; that would be the modern symbol for everything. Similarly with spoken language: We don't actually "dial" phone numbers anymore, and we don't "hang up", either - but what are we going to say? "Poke" a number? "Tap" a number? To "tap a call" would mean both to dial and to hang up? I hate these small black rectangles ... ruined everything ...

  2.  @thulyblu5486  The 5-1/4" discs, and the 8" discs that came before, were floppy, but so were the 3-1/2" discs; they were just inside a rigid shell.
