It's an interesting question with no satisfying answer because there are so many confounding factors besides the listener's familiarity with a given language: there are also the speaker's sex and vocal timbral qualities (as also mentioned), as well as dialect, accent, and emotional state, for example. Angry, male, New York American English is going to sound vastly different from seductive, female, British English. And how many variations are there even within New York English and British English? It's impossible to account for all of these things. In any case: "There are many different languages in the world, and every language has meaning" (1 Corinthians 14:10).
