Ah; remember when you operated everything in your car with your HANDS? Those simple mechanical door handles that always, always worked, allowing you inside and outside the car; it was like magic. Cranking the window up and down afforded you some exercise on long drives. Those peg-style door locks were also fun to play with.

@RemnantDiscipleLazzaro-Rev1217 Sorry if it seemed like I was criticizing you; no - just the car manufacturers. I'm from the '70s and I even hate power windows: what if the car breaks down and your window happens to be open, and a storm comes? Nope; I'm all for easy, manual operation. I'm at a loss as to what to do for a new vehicle. I'd actually like to buy some no-frills car from last century, but they're probably going to outlaw gasoline, ICEs, and vehicles without spyware.
