To all of you excusing this because trailers are made long before the movie is completed: you’re simply wrong. I’m in my 50s, & I know this didn’t used to happen so much when I was a kid, & it’s happening more & more, & it’s deliberate. The Martian trailer: “I’m gonna science the heck out of this.” The Martian, in the theatre, with my kids: “I’m gonna science the f*** out if this.” Trailers can also be deliberately misleading to hide the amount of wokeness you’ll be subjected to in the theatre. There are no mistakes; the studios are cynical; they laugh as they suck you in.
