  1. We may be at a point in modern society where keeping our privacy is nearly impossible. But that doesn't mean that the concept is unimportant. Do you really not care if someone knows EVERYTHING about you? Without your knowing that they know? And if they can can control your level of participation in society based on that?

  2.  @Ancipital_  Well, I can only hope you're right, but I'm not as optimistic. I used to be a real proponent of AI development back in the '90s. Now, I see with great disappointment that its main applications are in surveillance, deception, and censorship - all qualities of less-than-citizenship-friendly forms of government.
