@CauldronOdoom It's chicken-and-egg; language and thought influence each other. People who speak different languages often think and see the world differently. People who don't think much generally don't have a large vocabulary, and vice versa. In the English-speaking world, people from previous centuries (e.g., Shakespeare) were much more expressive because they had much larger vocabularies. That's why, in Orwell's 1984, they were gradually phasing out words to limit people's ability to express themselves, and thus, eventually, to limit their thinking.
