@theworldisastage1984 The irony of talking about "big pharma" and the "link to autism" is hysterically ironic. Mr Wakefield's "research" was PAID FOR by a drugs manufacturer who produced separate MMR vaccines (as opposed to the single, 2-dose combined vaccine). He is the worst kind of "scientist" and has done immeasurable harm, by giving succour to the ignorant and easily misled. He was struck-off by the GMC in the UK and RIGHTLY SO. If he was correct; if his data was valid, then we would SIMPLY have switched to the separate vaccines. Why? Thalidomide. Because science is REPEATABLE; you can't hide the truth. They tried that with Galilleo. The simple reality is it was bad research and people who've had bad things happen to them are always desperate for an explanation; someone, something to blame. Maybe the vaccination regime is different in the US, but in the UK, the ONLY evidence that came out of the MMR scandal was that reduced rates of vaccination correlated almost exactly with a rise in the incidence of measles and the deaths as a result. To claim "vaccination doesn't work" or any variation, demonstrates one of two things: 1. You don't understand how deadly or debilitating these diseases are. 2. You don't understand the history of vaccination and epidemiology. Styx IS correct on this subject.
