@ApostleOfCats In what way? That's just as stupid a comment as the original. It is true that saboted rounds should not be fired from a barrel with a muzzle break. This was established 75 years ago when sabot rounds were first developed for tanks; it the reason "every" high-velocity WW2 tank barrel had a muzzle brake and "every" post-war barrel did not. Were you trying to point out that it was a chamber explosion, perhaps?

Yeah, I think there IS a lesson: If you've got ammunition of unknown provenance, DON'T SHOOT IT, unless you have to tools and experience to reload the powder charge yourself.
