It smells like a trap to me. Evacuate the civilian population, tell your enemy you are retreating, let them advance onto an area that you can bombard with impunity...

@Sciencedroppa2700 History does not repeat, but it does rhyme... Interestingly, if the Ukrainians are suffering 500+ casualties per day, then this would be comparable to the casualties Britain suffered during WW1... So yeah, comparing to WW2 is wrong, I guess... 🤷‍♂️

@Bishop46066 The fact that you didn't get the subtlety of that message demonstrates such a lack of knowledge and understanding that it's embarrassing. It is the West who have continuously, repeatedly, arrogantly ignored EVERY agreement with post-soviet Russia. It is incredibly frustrating to be governed by such awful people who have no honour or even GOOD SENSE!!! 😡 Ukraine cannot win this war - they will either be crushed by Russia or they will become the nexus of WW3. Either way, Ukraine will be wiped-out. The only position that benefits the PEOPLE of Ukraine is for them to "surrender" (get rid of their Western puppet government). I don't want the UK to waste time going to war with Russia - we can't afford it and China is the strategic threat.

Yeah, Graham is awful. I'm neutral as far as outcome is concerned, I just want the fighting to end. It's sickening that people are so cavalier with human lives. (I confess, my current conclusion is that the 'fastest' way to achieve this would be a Russian 'victory', but I just don't care; if they agreed a peace with the Russians retreating to the staring lines, I'd be just as happy.)
