@alexrennison8070 it's a hold-over from his Socialist upbringing. Socialism stands directly against Christianity, as it rupudiates everything that underpins Socialism. He needs to go beyond the anti-Christian propaganda he grew up with and start being as rigourous in his analysis and criticism as he is with other subjects. Of course, we know that this would mean he'd find out he's wrong, but that's not our problem...

@chrissi3193 You cannot be close to God of you do not believe. He is not a truth seeker on this subject. His arguments are repudiated by the opening words of Genesis; Genesis states that God created the world before creating man. If God created the world before creating man, how can TIK say that "Christians believe in subjective reality", implying that we believe things only exist when we see them, when the Bible directly states the opposite? And this is even before we get into the "fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil".

@aleksazunjic9672 Nope. Pretty consistent with Catholic and Eastern Orthodox teaching. God created reality. God created man with the divine ability to see the world that God created. People who believe in Creationism are blaspheming against the divine senses that we have been given; they deny the power of God to create a system that would create a planet that would create DNA that, through a process of evolution would create man. You're clearly not a Christian, yet you feel comfortable telling Christians what they believe? There's a word for that... and it's not complimentary. So much of what is said about Christian belief is pure anti-Christian propaganda. Reading the Bible alone, is not sufficient to understand Christianity, just as reading the Torah alone is insufficient to understand Judaism.

@marierejoiceinjesus3846 I think he meant you misspoke in your original post, is all. You said "He said that Christians believe in objective reality...", when I think you meant to say "do not" or "subjective", which is what TIK actually said. I think a lot of confusion flows from that in the back-and-forth.

@OneLine122 That is silly semantic quibbling, when the subject is "belief systems". It's not clever, it's just annoying.

Whoa... I'm Christian and I believe in objective reality. Don't lump us in with the crazies! You need to get over your Socialist-inspired irrational hatred of Christianity.

@aleksazunjic9672 What does that have to do with objective reality? The world is not perfect. Agreed. We are separated from God. Agreed. The world will end. Agreed. The material world and the immaterial are separate. Agreed. The physical truth has nothing to do with divine truth, almost by definition. How does this "prove" that objective reality doesn't exist? Or that Christians do not believe in objective reality? I think you are confusing the view of now with the view of the hereafter. Everything after death is unknowable; it is as delusional to say with certainty that there is nothing, as it is to say there is eternal life in heaven or hell. Saying "you believe in heaven therefore, you do not believe in objective reality", is a complete non sequitur.

That's why there used to be a distinction between philosophers and 'thinkers'. I wonder who was behind the change of language? 🤔

@yournumberonepal True... All the more reason he shouldn't talk about it in the way he does.
